I love cox.

Big hard, bouncy, black, Cox.

All night long.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Jun-28-2014 22:40:

sven bath probably does all kinds of weird object bullshit. Coxs is just one big black monolith. No gimmicks or aids. Well not for a while. rum pa ta dum PUN

After seeing both more than once Vth hands down

Posted by djnitride on Jun-29-2014 04:25:

Carl Cox on the cob.

Seriously though, Sven Vath.

Posted by Floorfiller on Jun-29-2014 15:53:

I heard Carl Cox is a better tipper...

Sven Vath is an innovator.. A legend in his own right.. So many tracks that I discovered when I got into this.. In all their complexity were just phenomenal.. But today? Yeah.. Carl Cox has solidified his place in EDM History.. In the minds of not just aficionado's but of kids that go to Ultra.. That's something right there.. Plus the Queen of England loves him.. When Queen's love you.. Yeah..

Posted by AmberLea on Jun-29-2014 23:53:

Whoever DJRYAN didn't vote for, Gimmee Cox all night long.

Posted by DJRYAN on Jun-30-2014 00:25:

you know.. the only downfall to Carl Cox.. he's entirely too costly for parties these days.. there's a bunch of us that would love to hear him play.. but he's priced pretty much out of the mainstream club market.. and so.. Ibiza, Ultra, Tomorrowland.. places like that are going to be the only venues you can hear him play..

Posted by ucforange on Jun-30-2014 03:48:

Carl Cox...

Posted by jad on Jun-30-2014 19:17:

Tough pick.. They're both legends and are amazing at delivering stellar sets. I'd go with Sven Vath though. I dig his sort of energy a little more than Carl Cox.

Posted by SYSTEM-J on Jun-30-2014 22:35:

Shamefully, I've never seen either live. It doesn't help that Sven only seems to play at Cocoon In The Park in Leeds, which happens once a year and tickets are north of 40. Cox hasn't played around here for three or four years now.

Posted by Mr Game+Watch on Jun-30-2014 23:55:

I still haven't seen Sven live yet but I've seen Cox plenty of times, not to mention I prefer Coxy's style a bit more based on the sets I've heard.

Posted by JonDC on Jul-01-2014 01:58:

Shame I can't give a legitimate answer cuz I haven't seen Vath, but I absolutely love Cox.Really knows when to lift and drop his sets IMO

Posted by planetaryplayer on Jul-03-2014 21:43:

Carl always has high energy in his sets. I've seen him 3x and vath once. However vath will play some faster paced techno. I have to give it to vath as he slammed the hell out of the party. Dropping P.a.s. - future modular on an island outdoors was amazing.

Based on labels I prefer cocoon to intec as well

Posted by OrangestO on Jul-04-2014 16:38:

I've been thinking about it. I haven't seen CC live - YET.

I've seen Sven at what I believe is his absolute best. One time. But fuck did he rock that shit.

Judging from that and the tracks I tend to find throughout their sets, I'd say Sven. But I love Cox

Need to see him live in the next decade, lol.

Sven was insane this past weekend at Awakenings festival. Closed the 2nd night with his set, no regrets at all

Sven costs more and tours less.

Vth because of pretty much everything. The only thing I like about Cox is his energy, the man is a beast. Still nothing compared to Sven. Dunno if they've even played here. Sven would have been nice to see live in some smaller venue. Then later we could either do coke, do eachother, or discuss Wittgenstein over a game of backgammon.

Had some fabulous experiences with Vth's marathon sets in the 90s so he'll will always have a special place for me. Heard Cox a couple of times, mostly at MayDay raves back in the day though. Good stuff but music wise I've always leaned towards Vth's selections. Cox can go into a kind of tech house area that doesn't do as much for me

Vath !
Saw him play at cocoon at his 50th in Frankfurt, roof blew off !

was there too. massive! when he dropped moderat i went nuts!

it all comes down to where theyre playing. a standard festival set, they're probably equal, but cox in ibiza would a winner, just like an extended vath set at time warp or love family park would be a winner.

go see them both. but catch them in their element. not a shitty 1 hour 15 min edc set. you cant judge either of them off those kinda gigs.
