It's actually so J'. They practically ripped-off our resident Brit's Kaleidoscope review.

Incidentally, the alternate working title to 'Just Be.'

What's bothering me is: why now?
It's nothing new that 99% of the stuff released out there is total crap, why did DJMAG finally turn on tiest0r? (and Avicii...)

What's next? an issue with the cover: "Electro House Must Die!" does this symbolize hope for EDM?

Considering that Tiesto's original moniker was 'Da Joker,' he seems to have come fittingly full-circle.

But in truth, I feel as though I respect Tiesto far more now than I did in recent years, for at least he has the willingness to freely admit that he's abandoned trance because everyone else has, and it's through...whatever he's doing now that will allow him to 'connect' (re: remain relevant) to younger audiences. But I feel like he's second only to Paul Oakenfold in terms of legendary jocks that the young people know of, but really give few shits about.

Lol, this could seriously pass an impromptu picture that a fan took as he was exiting the hotel.

It no longer officially exists on the interwebs, though I think he posted it somewhere on TA a little while back.

DJMag wants to be taken seriously as a credible journalistic source for all things electronic music orientated, and if that means tearing down the commercial juggernauts of the scene, so be it. Frankly, if slamming a new Tiesto album is how they figure they'll earn underground cred', they're going about it in a sad, petulant way. They want to get all hip and snarky about these things, but lack any finesse in doing so (sorry, chaps, but you'll never be Muzik Magazine).

No one's ever going to take them seriously while they continue running their annual DJ popularity contest, no matter how many weak appeals to the underground like ripping on Tiesto they continue making. To be honest, I think they should just embrace it, become full-on purveyors of all things EDM cheddar, though in a slightly underhanded way if they must.

I'm not sure if this is necessarily an example of DJ Mag attempting to earn underground cred inasmuch as they're just affording one particular reviewer with the creative space to express his honest feelings on the album. If you click the actual DJ Mag link, the article refers to this album's reception as a 'mixed review,' and spends more time asking if it's 'just shit?' as opposed to accusing it as such.

Maybe they're simply attempting to appeal to a growing sentiment within the mainstream that's finally beginning to turn on Tiesto, rather than an underground scene that's always shunned him.

This showed up in my discogs and just clicked to see the credits and it's quite baffling.

The only part he had on the album was the cover.

This album was...sad as fuck. Yea I don't know what's happening to all the trance artists lately (except for a rarely select few), but they should start fixing it eventually (not like it's going to happen...seems it's going to trash nowadays x.x)

Not sure how it is in Europe, but for all the PR suggesting otherwise, Tiesto's influence within the mainstream in the Americas never reached a point where it'd turn on him for a pandering LP.

pretty much. i actually watched a few of his shows about him touring on his youtube channel. wow man the guy has just discontected with the music so much these days
his mentality is "hey let me show up to a gig, play a pre recorded top 40 set,get paid, get on the radio, have groupies in my booth"

you look at this intereview with him back in the day he is much more humble and not letting the fame get to his head. he was still about taking you on a journey

I've listened to this album once. The usual first-time skip through. Tiesto's music introduced me to this dance culture but fuck what a turn he's taken for the worst. It's really weird, too. Here I am on TA about five years into this scene truly disappointed in a guy I was jamming out to 1,825 days ago. Sure, I've burrowed deeper into the music while he has in a phototropic-like way grown himself into a stage whore. But fuck. Another thing that boggles my mind is how much people eat this shit up. I traveled through Creamfields In Search of Sunrise to get to where I am now. I'm astonished at not only how contemptible this package of so-called music is but at how poor other people's tastes are aurally. I don't care if you're a 14-year-old MDMA junkie or a 46-year-old life-long Tijs groupie. This shit is that bad.

Meh. And what the fuck with that cover? Is he trolling? For fuck sake, man.
