Recommendations for ARIA and BIGGY
Don't you think it would be a good idea to have some digital RECORDER integrated in the dj booth that would record digitally the dj sets (especially when big names come to town)?
We have so much good music coming at Aria, and it would be a great idea for Aria to show and promote this to all Trance and Techno lovers on the net.
We, trance and techno fans, downlaod many sets on the net such as:
Dave Seaman - Live @ Space in Miami
Johan Gielen - Live @ Club Eau
Mauro Picotto - Live @ Gatecrasher NEC
which are world-wide well known clubs!! I think Aria is part of these clubs......and you must show it to the techno fans that you have great dj's coming at Aria!
J-F, ca serait le meilleur moyen pour donner encore plus de notorit ton club....une notorit de masse, car les fichiers MP3 font le tour de la plante!
People would therefore associate good music to ARIA, just like I do when I listen to a good set from Club EAU. If I ever get the chance to go in Holland, I will go there for sure!!!
In my opinion, it is the best way to promote ARIA as a prestigious internationnal club!
very excellent point there Louis , but i know for sure they are working on it
i've read on many different occasions that there are a lot of dj's that don't want their sets recorded, so that is probably why you dont see many clubs recording dj sets...
steve.
I'm sure they can get some authorization of many dj's, even though some will not accept (PVD would be one of them that would not accept, in my opinion).
I say it's a win-win situation, for the club, for the dj's, and also for the fans! Why would some dj's not accept? (consider PVD asside for this question
)
OR ... dont tell them, record it, and distribute it to us TA !
why do i already know your answer ?
I'm talking about a digital recorder integrated in the dj equipment. You can't have a good quality with a hand recorder!!!
the thing is , a dj might totally fuck up his set then it gets recorded and found online , it will of course give him a bad reputation ...
and i'm sure some djs have some weird ass stuffs in their contracts with labels , etc ...
Another recommendation
Biggy did u ever thought about seasonal passes????
I've been hearing it a lot theeses days. There is a lot of great DJs coming to Aria often and not just one night per month like last summer.
that would be incredible!!!
ARIA would be know around the world!!!
and that would be because of you TA's, we're the greatest!!!

I would actually pay for a CD such as: Ferry Corsten Live @ Aria or Armin Van Buuren Live @ Aria... Aria's reputation would grow, there would be extra income, and much more... I wish I would be able to relive my night at Aria when big time DJs pay us a visit...
We still have to hear what Biggy's comment is... Biggy?? what do you think??

Also one little thing that could help me a lot...
Biggy, can you tell my how high is the sound level of Aria's sound
system ? I need an answer in decibels ... (dB)
We use MD at VIVA; the recordings turn out cd quality.
itikia
Peak is aproximate 130 DB and continuous is 118 - 120 DB.
So Biggy, no comments on the recommendations???
I knew it was loud @ ARIA but not that loud... He is a comparison chart of DB levels.
Threshold of hearing.....................0 dB
Outdoors, no people or traffic..........20 dB
Background noise in a library...........40 dB
Ordinary speaking voice.................60 dB
Heavy traffic...........................85 dB
Power lawnmower up close................90 dB
Motorcycle (rider)......................90 dB
Chainsaw...............................100 dB
Rock music at concert..................110 dB
Jet plane takeoff at 100 yards.........120 dB
Threshold of pain......................140 dB
If you value your hearing maybe you should stay away from ARIA.. (Then again maybe not)

One set I wish I could download is Armin's April 12th, 2002 ARIA set.
My favourite so far.
I like the idea of ARIA being able to record their sets.
So far, I've been able to download pretty much any live set from any DJ that I've ever wanted. How does a DJ say "Yay or Nay" to the recording? Is it common for DJ's to say no?

TrancePlant i think the best person to answer your question is Biggy
