Arrow How to make 128KBS sound good???

Hey guys I have a problem,
You know mp3.com wants files in 128 KBS but when ever I encode my music it sounds like shit....not like the music I download 128 KBS from mp3.com....

So what's the difference??? What am I doing wrong??? I've read the "mp3 encoding forums" where everyone recommnds Lame but that thing doesn't work...dunno why not???

Is there a trick to make the file sound good regardless of the size??? I mean the file size can be very big as the music sounding good...but still it's 128KBS ???

Need Help

what are the settings u are using when saving to .wav?

Posted by Dj Ahter on Oct-14-2002 16:37:

As I'm trying to encode a Wav file into Mp3 I don't see such "Wave saving Settings" but all I can say is that 123KBS,Sterio, and no VBR.....

Posted by Gluegun on Oct-14-2002 17:57:

Well, lets see here...

We are assuming that the original .wav is good, right?

Than take the .wav, take the program LAME and the front end "Razorlame" for the program "LAME" to encode... at least it wont be *that* bad, even if its only 128...

yeh, but if you havent saved your wan file correct in the first place then lame will not encode it properly.
