krispy kreme

for all of those who have tried krispy kreme donuts (i'm talking about the glazed one... the rest are whatevers.)how well do you think it would do in other countries? i mean they have just started an expansion campaign across the united states and from what i know every store that has opened gets great business... but do you think it would do well in other countries or even continents?

oh yeah and to you canadians.... is tim hortons really all that its cracked up to be?

Posted by Vanilla on Oct-14-2002 19:24:

Tim Hortons is the pride of Canada, that and Swiss Chalet

Krispy Kreme finally hit PA and their donuts are very good. I like them more than Dunkin Donuts...and for some reason Krispy Kreme's stay fresh longer. Recently, one of their bakeries opened up close to my house and for some reason they're closing already. They've only been open for two months too My sister's friends dad works there and we get free donuts all the time...but now we won't anymore

krispy kreme still hasn't some to NJ. you have to get them packaged, and that defeats the whole purpose of having fresh donuts.

Posted by cycloptor on Oct-14-2002 20:31:

hahaha...theyre even in canada... stupid hew jersey... hahaha

theyre pretty good, but i still prefer timmys. there is just something about hortan's thats so right. also the fact that im from hamilton (home town, highest number of em) might have something to do with it.

tim hortans double chochlate is a bajillion times better then those stupid krispy kremes + less fattening

One just opened up 5 mins away from my house.. and it's ALWAYS busy. there's usually a 10 car line up at the drive through, and the line goes out of the door most of the time. They had to have police around when they opened it.

And all I can say is that the donuts arnt that great. they're small, very small, and too sticky and dont even taste that good. I dont know why there's so much hype over them.

Another place near my house, andy's donuts, sell the BEST DONUTS Ive ever eaten in my life. their apple fridders are like 3 pounds, and the size of a cake, I cant even finish one in a sitting and I eat alot. and they're under a doller.

i dont really like tim hortons that much. they're ok.

Posted by piggy on Oct-14-2002 21:20:

yeah, they've migrated to Canada...it's everywhere here..

Posted by trancendental on Oct-14-2002 21:25:

Invest Invest in their Stocks!! Hurry. jk

It's overrated and just a fad.

Posted by Essential1 on Oct-14-2002 23:07:

as soon as they opened the first canadian store, a friend of mine bought about 50 dozens for $10.99/dozen and sold them @ work for $30/dozen. he made a killing!

oh yeah, and when it says "microwave for 8 seconds", don't leave it in for too long. I put one in for 8 MINUTES once when i was high and it liquified. I had to eat it with a spoon.

Even on freezing thanksgiving weekends, there is a 500-metre-minimum lineup length. crazy ppl.. you'ld think they're soldiers lining up for rations...

thier regular glazed donuts are great tho

Thumbs up

I agree that Tim Hortons is the doughnut & coffee pride of Canada, but they can't keep up with how amazing the taste of Krispy Kreme is. Krispy Kreme is absolutely the best. There must be some freak out there who made a KKA site, KrispyKremeAddict.com. LOL!!!!

i only kid.

Do any of you have the krispy kreme shops where you watch the donuts go through the machine? Its a lot of fun to watch. First the dough circles are loaded onto a little rotating thing in a big class encased oven where they slowly rotate from one end to another until they rise. Once they get to the other end they fall off onto a little belt that throws them into the fryer, they fry for a few seconds then are flipped over (automatically), then finally flipped out onto another belt. From there they go through a waterfall of glaze (mmmm) and ride over to the people behind the counter that load them fresh into a box

Posted by blazed it on Oct-15-2002 08:55:

^^^ aren't all krispy kremes like this?

Posted by Photo_bot_2k1 on Oct-16-2002 02:06:

i go cuase the give free samples
just get 10 people to go in line with u
they give everyone a donut and then buy like 1 donut for urself
so u get like 11 for the price of 1

Haven't seen any Krispy Creames out here in Vancouver yet, but Tim Hortons is good enough for me, their dounghts are awsome.

Posted by Nadi on Oct-16-2002 05:13:

krispy kreme is good because the dougnuts are always fresh. theres nothing worst than cold dougnuts

Posted by Ekstasis on Oct-16-2002 23:06:

I just had my first Krispy Creame ever today. Had to go to a meeting early this morning and there were about 5 boxes of them sitting there. Still warm to. They were good, a bit sweet for that early though.
