Tunes to represent Trance?

I was insulting the hiphop tunes that my hockey team mate brought into the dressing room today. He told me to bring some of my own music... some trance music.

Now what tunes would be good to put on a cd that can represent trance, and have the best chance of my hockey team liking them? Even a liveset would do - which one?

I'm talking about Trance, not Alice Deejay and Darude here.

thanks :-)

Forget about it.
1. It's a hockey team
2. It's a hockey team that listens to hip hop, or more possibly rap. There is a significance difference between the two.

And IF it is real hip hop, I don't get how you can bag on it...hip hop IMO is the rawest, most pure type of music in this day and age. Rap on the other hand gives it a corrupt image and stereotype that we all learned to acquire
Rap is to Alice Deejay as hip hop is to Sasha. Lemme put it that way.

Well I'm not going to make any specific recommendations, but if I were in your position, I'd probably go with something hard.

Tunnel Trance Force 17 Disc 1 I think might be 2

Starts off with Angel of Death-Kai Tracid
If theres gangster hip hop, this is gangster trance, the whole cd kicks ass and is packed full of energy.

If you just want a song to represent

Universal Nation-Push remix
Mauro Picotto-Its Like this its like that (if u want something haRD)

aLSO ALL MY Gino friends seem to love
Dreams-Miss Shiva-Orig Remix

Start off with some cheese then bring out the good stuff.

ahhh they're not gonna listen or even want to. trust me i play hockey too and a bunch of bonehead (16-20 year old) kids arent gonna want to change their mind. i dont even try i just blockkkk it out or put my own shit on a cd player. blast it as loud as possible and if someone hears it and they like it, convert them. it will spread. all these meatheads on my team last year listened to classic rock and flamed me for liking trance or electronic and probably always will. my friend classifies all trance as 'darude.' i want to punch him in the face. ive made me point. goodnight.

go hard

Hey man, I once was one of them there hip hopin hockey guys and if I was u I wouldn't bring anything with girly vocals, trust me, the only thing they will say is "this shit is gay". You gota give them a drop of the harder stuff, maybe even some hard house, but as for trance anyhting harder. I find that alot of people not into electronic music also like the beats with the odd swear word and what not, I would go with kai tracid, cosmic gate, derb, wag...anything along those lines

give em "the hardcore well never dye"

IN TRANCE I TRUST

Just put on an older Tiesto set and that will do the job.

definitly something hard!

Posted by Magimaster on Oct-17-2002 03:03:

Representing the HARD sector.......DJ SCOT PROJECT!!!!!

Banginglobe should do nicely

but for a hockey game, hmm.....Universal Nation might just do the trick.

I'd stick to the harder side of things...and I'd also stay away from vocals. Anti-Trance people usually list that as their first peeve.

Just keep it hard. That should do nicely. Good head-pumping music.

Hard stuff eh? Ok, I'll trust you TA's.

Here's a list of some tunes that I was thinking about playing. Feel free to add to, or narrow down the list.

I guess you could try the standards:
Rank 1-Airwave
Alex D'Elia vs Ebop All Stars-Isn't Life wonderful?
Push-Strange World (2000 remake)
PVD-For an Angel

but don't count it to convert them per se. That takes time, if happens at all.

You can try with some anthems like Gouryella, Out of the blue, For a an Angel, Airwave, Overdrive or something similar.
Good luck.

Hit them HARD with Hennes & Cold - Second Wave (DJ Scott Project remix) they'll be stunned
Maybe after that a finishing touch with something like Dumonde - Never look back (original promo) or Tomcraft vs Sunbeam - Versus I know the last one is old but it kicks some major arse!

Yeh play sum hard shit.. esp sum good Cosmic Gate or Pulsedriver.... they were sum of my favs at first. Play a great remix of Exploration of Space.. the hardest remix of Exploration of Space is Dj Septik - Volume 3 - Exploration of Space (Track 4)
Trust me, its tight so if you can't find it IM me on Aol Instant Messanger (Screenname : disbtomE)
Also some Tiesto would be good such as Lethal Industry or DuMonde - God Music (Cosmic Gate Remix) or clubcrasher - seven days & one week-herby f.mix
