Mac users - have you updated to Yosemite yet?

Is it safe to go in the water? Mostly concerned about DAWs (LPX, Studio One) and some plugins (NI, Spectrasonics, FabFilter).

Everything on my Mac is working just fine.

So hell no.

I was tempted but I've held back.. As bluffy said everything is fine as it is.. I received an email from ni today saying their plugins are working fine however they are having some issues with hardware.

I recall seeing a Steinberg post about holding off for a while as well.

Everything is working fine for me on Mavericks as well, but my Mac isn't my main computer, and I only use it occasionally for music production. My iOS devices are all updated and I'd like to take advantage of all these new OSX/iOS features, so maybe I'll be the official TA guinea pig.

I'm running Yosemite and everything is fine. Every things backed up, its not like ima lost my projects or anything.

Just saw that email, too. I use the Maschine software on my Air, but I only use the hardware with my desktop PC, so I should be good there.

Logic loaded 30% faster if anyone wants to know or even care.

NI is having issues with pro tools when updating to Yosemite fyi Dave if you got any of their plug ins

Yeah, I saw that. Fortunately for me, I only use PT on my main desktop PC. I keep my MBAir lean, clean, and free of any software requiring dongles for simplicity and portability.

Logic Pro 9 even works perfectly for me and so does everything by Native Instruments on Yosemite.

And it's beautiful

Im using Yosemite aswell without any major flaws. Only problems for me personally is it doesnt support the alien resolution and aspect ratio that my external monitor has (non-thunderbolt) but music wise its doing just fine so far.

Several reports (anecdotal) have come up on my FB feed of people reporting higher system usage, especially with Cubase.

Not music related but more generic of nature: Lots of complaints here in office. Email stopped working properly on some stations amongst many other tiny problems with drivers.

I hate how the Calculator app has lost the m+ m- mr mc memory functions.

Grrr *shakes fist*

I know the Calculator widget still has them but I prefer to use the app.

Been running it a few weeks and everything is working fine.

I heard the same thing from several friends. Then I saw one show me his dock disappear when switching monitors.

Haven't tried it myself yet, but glad to hear most people posting here don't seem to be having issues.

All good here, been going for two weeks strong.

I haven't had a single driver issue or compatibility issue. Logic X works perfectly as do all my plugs.

on 2011 imac and 2008 imac.

And was fixed with an immediate patch *hours* after the update...

Every single company ever has had problems like that and it's impossible to prevent everything. What was telling was how fast they fixed the issue.

Then I hate to say it, but you're a muppet; they pulled that update within hours and all you had to do was go to itunes or the app store and select "Update" to revert it back. Apple published this fix less than 12 hours after the faulty update.

Posted by Storyteller on Nov-03-2014 08:25:

That's not really an excuse for the bad experience is it?
Heck I didn't know one could roll back updates in iTunes/Appstore up until just now.

two muppets and counting
