You can drink there when your 18! (um..Montreal at least)
It seems like a more laidback country than America to me too.
So many people bash Canada without really thinking about how it could be a nice place. Only problem I have though is that it's kinda cold and I'm not really into it being cold.
well I did love canada until last week.
when I woke up. and my furnace wasnt working. and I was so freezing that I almost got hypothermia. and its not even winter yet.
I want to move somewhere where it never reaches below 10'C . let alone -30
I love canada. ya it gets cold
Canada is cool. Never been there but Canadians seems like ok people
Why you ask...
Well why not? Really, unless you're from Canada or have spent time enough here to see the down sides (our politicians are a constant embarrasment IMHO) there's no reason not to like us. Image wise Canada is first rate. From a PR prespective I'd love to be a rep for this country. It would just be awareness work.
Our forigen policy is such that we rarely run afowl of others. Our military is in such a shambles that we couldn't attack a pub past last call, let alone another country. The general demeanour of our citizenry is affable, except in TO where the general concensus is we're full of ourselves (something I'm inclined to agree with, but with good cause. We float, what, 50% of the economy and have the best parties second only to Montreal.).
I'd actually like to hear some reasons not to like Canada, especially from people in other countries. Dose anyone out there hate us? I've never heard or seen in the media, or in my travels, some curse our name. In fact when I let out that I am Canadian I often get a very warm welcome, even in place where Americans might be in danger. No doubt there are some place where we wouldn't be very welcome, but those places are inhospitable to almost everyone.
As for the cold thing... it's cold in a lot of places. I'm in Europe freezing my ass off as I type. That's why most of us live near the border. We're trying to warm ourselves off the US pollution (joke, it's actually cuz we're getting ready to take you guys over. Next ice age and you guys are boned
)
Cheers,
Fats

why i love canada:
because whenever i drive up to vancouver with my car which has a washington license plate, there is an extremely large chance that it will get broken into, because of the american license plate (as they are targeted), and that i will have to pay 150 dollars for my smashed out window, as well as a case full of ~50 *real, not burned* cds in my trunk. i love canada because this sort of thing has happened directly or indirectly to literally everyone i know down here who has ever been up to vancouver with a washington plate.
then again, i also love canada because the thieves are so nice that they will leave a note in the back of my car saying "hope this didnt ruin your trip, hope you get home ok". yes, yes.. i love canada.

Good stuff
Canada is great. I love to visit there in the summer time when I'm outta school. It's nice and cool up there in the summer, compared to what I'm used to. Hehe... whenever I cross the border, I catch myself lookin at the speed limit signs and seeing 100... and I'm like 100mph? Oh yah.. kmh
Pretty chill country.
another great thing about Canada:
Kids in the Hall

Canada is a beautiful country. You don't fully realize it until you've discovered how many different cultures and lifestyles there are in this country. Ontario, B.C, Quebec, East Coast, north territories, central canada.... its amazing. Its like all the best parts of the world combined into one country.
