Gear plans for 2015

Hardware:
MFB Dominion 1 (still)
MFB Tanzbar (not sure on this yet, need further research)
Maschine/Push/something to program drums

Software:
Something quality in the distortion/saturation realm if it appears (maybe UAD culture vulture if i get a big discount)

what about yous? (some already have started judging by the home studio thread )

I don't have any big gear plans right now, but that could change after NAMM. The only thing that I've been somewhat seriously thinking about is a nylon-string acoustic/electric.

i owned a virus ti snow and resold it for 100% of my money, i only owned it for a year though. i loved it so much that i had to get a polar.

i don't have any gear plans for 2015 but i just bought a waldorf pulse 2, it's supposed to arrive this weekend so technically that's a 2015 acquisition. it'll be my first analog synth.

i've played with analog synths for years at guitar center, i liked all the ones they had on display but the moog little phatty was the one i always eyeballed and had GAS for. then the sub phatty came out and the GAS lust grew stronger. but i think the pulse 2 is a better fit for me and what i'm looking for, i'm really excited. i usually get one synth every other year but in the future i plan to sell a synth for any new synth i buy.

great time to buy hardware, such a wide variety of choices available.

Next things on my list are an Analog Four and Octatrack, although I'm also VERY intrigued by the Korg Odyssey re-issue.

What would you suggest guys?

Searching for something easily integrable with my daw.

I mean, I don't wanna spent an hour trying to make them communicate.

Something modern but able to reproduce those classic warm sounds ala "Seven Days And One Week".

Posted by Innocence Lost on Jan-01-2015 21:52:

I'd go with a Bass Station 2, can't go wrong with that.

Depends what you mean by integrateable, but the only one that truly does that is the Virus. Even then the timing is often flaky and you end up rendering to audio anyway.

Another option might be the Analog 4, which will have Ti style integration called Overbridge (via USB) later this year.

I'd like the System 1 by Roland, looking to get my first hardware synth this year possibly.

Posted by Innocence Lost on Jan-02-2015 00:53:

Yeah I could use a spare instead of a bedroom like setup.

that's def the biggest gear plan of the thread. me and the wife are looking to buy a house too, we're renting now. so far we haven't had much luck trying to find what we want, where we want, for how much we have to spend.

i came across a house in east atlanta that had an in-law suite, a detached 1 bedroom + kitchen + bathroom in the backyard. the owner had converted the in-law suite to a studio. all the walls were treated, it had a chill area/waiting room and the bedroom they converted to where the gear is... looked absolutely great... like something out of a somewhat extravagent gearslutz user studio pic. it had a mic booth with a window from the equipment/mixing room to the mic booth. it was really impressive, the listing said the place was sold as-is so he was going to leave it as a studio with wall treatment, etc. it was an amazing studio but the main house itself wouldn't work for us.
