anyone listen to it?
what was it like?

Posted by flystyler on Oct-20-2002 10:52:

Not like a normal marco set, bit of a let down

Was ok at the end, but it was a bit proggy at times, think he was trying to please Pete Tong or sommit

But recorded it, and listening now

the 1st 90 mins of his EM was very borderline progressive, some of the tracks he played were very good, just not what i was expecting of him, highlight of the 1st 90 mins was oliver lieb - subsonik (filterheadz remix)
the last 30 mins and Marco picked up the pace by dropping back to cali (push mix) and of course the inevitable Cafe del marco.

Most of us listening was execting him to drop more of his productions like Godd, so tbh it was a bit of a dissapointing EM

the mix from godskitchen was much much better

was great when he played god > faithless

yawn.... very boring indeed. Turned it off after the first hour. Me no likey at all

Thats interesting..

Marco's live at VIVA set was similar, he was almost progressive.

I hope this trend doesn't continue for him.

PS> I'm going to release Fergie's set at Viva within a week or so. Now that set was focken unbelievable!!!!

You guys were so right about Fergie being good. He is definitely a legend in the making...

Posted by Philby on Oct-21-2002 08:09:

huh? progressive? wtf?
i got no idea these days....
i thought he played trance, then more tech-trance kinda stuff, then techno with a couple of hard trance tracks in there too, now progressive?

he used to be wicked a few years ago when he was playing hard house.. now he's sold his soul to radio 1 and is fast becoming another judge jules

is that the godskitchen in dublin on saturday past there? cause he played godd through about 3 different tunes and it was absolutely brilliant. he mixxed them flawlessly.

Yea it wasn't what I thought it was goin to be....y do alot of dj's play different for that....i guess its a radio show and what not..but it didn't seem like marco's style.

hey tech he did that trick on his 5 hour ID&T set as well

Just finished browsing through Marco's essential mix.

The beginning was slow. He picked it near the middle, then slowed down again. Near the end he let it rip; even Pete Tong was surprised, maybe he was told to tone it down for the radio audience??

All in all, his mix at Godsktichen proves that MarcoV = The man.
