Camel Audio closing shop?
Thread on KVR makes me sad as Alchemy is one of my favorite synths and it doesn't look like it will be getting a V2 or any new official sound expansions.

Really shitty
Yeah, that sucks. My favorite synth, too. It seemed like they were doing pretty well.

Sad day indeed... All of their plugs are great.
I guess I won't be purchasing Alchemy after all.
Fucking hell!!!!!

Holy shit, I just woke up and started reading the KVR and GS threads. Paranoia and hysteria have reached epic levels since I went to bed last night.

Well, I find this statement (from KVR) to be very interesting:

Unfortunately, he followed up with this:

That wouldn't be logical and not how the Camel's do stuff. |
He'd not say anything that went against an NDA, so 'or maybe not' is probably a bit of a red herring.
I know a couple of their other main sound designers as well, and they know nothing.
Alchemy 2 WAS near complete though and apparently quite awesome.
Sad news, im a big fan of Alchemy

Ye Andy is a friend of mine and I can vouch that Alchemy 2 was almost there. Still I had no idea about this.

| Originally posted by cryophonik I don't really want to get into the speculation game (because I'm usually wrong), but it really does smell of buyout to me. I could see NI, for example, wanting in on Camel's success and, if Alchemy 2 is as awesome as all indications seemed, why wouldn't a bigger company want that in their product line? Maybe that's just wishful thinking, though. As a Camel Audio customer, it sucks to see them go, but if Ben and the boys made a pile of cash and Alchemy 2 will still see the light of day, that's probably the best outcome I could hope for at this point. |

Maybe it's not so far-fetched. Here's what Urs from U-he just posted minutes ago.

I managed to read twentysomething pages of the KVR thread until the conspiracy speculations got boring.
But yeah, buyout and NDA seems like the most likely scenario.
