Numark TT-200 or Gemini PT-2400?
It's all in the subject folks. There are some good turntables hitting the market recently, and I'd like some advice. Should it be the Numark, with interchangable straight-arm/traditional s-shaped arm or the high end Gemini. Any thoughts?
HL.
i dont know much about gemini, but what i know about numark is that is the base model of the TTx1, for example it doesnt have the lcd screen and the same super high torque motor. So why dont you just keep on saving, and buy the numark TTX
I'd be drawing my pension by the time I had a pair in my hands

Well they are around the same price. The PT-2400 does have a quite strong motor but i think the Numark might just have the edge.
Check your DJ stores and try them out if you can.

does n e one know if the motor of that gemeni is a shaft, or is it electro-magnetics like the TTX1 and the 1200's?
but as for the TT-200's, they're not bad for 3 bills a piece. I went to guitar center, and i played around with them...even tho it has a shaft motor, its still pretty strong. I was really impresed with them.
it has reverse mode, and 2 start/stop bottons, removeable connections and target light, quartz lock, 33-45-78 rpms like the TTX1's. but it only has 10% pitch control, no magnetic motor, or lcd screen display.
The TT-200's are so good I bought myself a pair. The torque is good, accuracy is spot on, and they look fantastic. Worth the money.

ive heard very good things about the Gemini 2401
get the Clear green ones
Yeah, the PT-2410's are the clear blue ones.. you can get new units from eBay at $240...!
The PT-2410 does have a little more torque than the TT-200's, and in the end i would go the Gemini. It also has LCD and reverse and 78rpm (lol). But if you want to change arms and want soething that doesn't skip so easily than the TT-200 fits perfect
I have had my PT-2400's for two months now and I love em !
No complaints about the torque and such... And with the 78rpm function you can make everything sound like the happy hardcore shit from '94... And who DOESN'T want that
But serious... they're a very good choice for a decent price..
Happy Hardcore? No, I don't think anyone wants that to return. Nu-Style Hardcore is kicking off big time, fusing the trance vibe with the high-energy feel you know and love. Check out http://www.imorecords.com/ and have a listen through the hardcore section, you might be surprised how far we've come.
My TT-200's are still performing superbly. It's now just my headphones, mixer and talent that are the weak areas within my system
