where do you get your samples?

as in drum samples. kicks, hats, snare etc

i had maschine samples which were great, 808, 909 etc...but i don't have that anymore and need to replace them.

the standard samples you get with FL are pretty abysmal.

Mostly freebies I saw at one time or another online, or off of the DVDs that come with production magazines like Computer Music. I think about 95% of the samples I have come from those two sources. The only samples that I can remember actually buying was Deep Analogue House from Sample Tools by Cr2, and all the samples that came with the House Music Production Secrets Boxed Set from Sample Magic.

This seems pretty cool and timely, although I haven't checked them out for myself yet. Converse is giving away 11K samples (>10 days worth of audio) for free.

I just checked out that shoe library, turns out they have samples not shoes. it's really organized, and afaik you cant just download the whole thing and sit on it, you have to engage their website (which is quite fast and easy on the eyes) to grab the specific samples you want to work with. I made an account and bookmarked "soulful vocal session"

Hopefully they keep adding sessions, and one of us can make it there for a sesh too and represent. looks legit!

i actually rip most stuff form tracks i like in other styles like funk rap and that stuff. Old stuff from cd. And then basically about 3 libraries which every producer used to make their other librairies.

Vengence house 1 is good enough.
Get bassism for pitched kicks
i have 10 or so drummachines i really like that i might layer

And you pretty have everything covered.

i use bfd as a habit but it is probably just overkill.

ANything instrumental , i just play.
