What color is this dress?

Why do some see it as white and gold and others as blue and black?

For some reason people are divided here

They're pants.

Black, like your soul.

As it stands in THAT picture I see white/gold but I can also see, after some white balancing, that it is blue/black.

I just read a bit about it but if ppl are seeing it as black/blue from that specific picture it would be interesting to know the lighting conditions/device that is having ppl see that...since, to the naked eye, I certainly do not.

Dude, Spock died today! Why are you still talking up that fucking dress!?

Inferior TN panels, whites are blue.

I saw it in both colors in the exact same picture, on the exact same screen. First I saw it in blue and black for many hours, then forgot about the whole thing, had a break from work and played CS:GO with my friend for an hour or so. When I scrolled through news for the end of the break, I saw the dress in white and gold for just a few seconds probably due to my eyes getting adapted to the lighting in the game. I also think that seeing the top part of the image first is important if you want to see it in white and gold, since it's the most "golden" looking part when I see it in blue and black.

To me it's just blue/black regardless of which screen I look.

But my younger colleague watched here: http://www.wired.com/2015/02/scienc...es-color-dress/

It's white/gold for him, but when he looks at the left picture and then focuses on the middle one, it's first blue/black and within few seconds turns into white/gold.

He also said he saw it in both colors at his phone, but didn't know why.

At least we can all agree on one thing: The people who see the dress as white are utterly, completely wrong.
