could you put up a sample that we could listen to? Its hard to know what you may be doing wrong... add some reverb? compress more? umm use another sound sample? u know what i mean

i mean i got all the layers that i need.. but the song doesnt seem to sound blasting and energy.. even tho no matter how many layers or sounds i create.. and doesnt sound warm.. like it feels chunky.. and just dry..

any ideas?

The problem to me sounds to be the lack of bassline. You might have one in there but i can't hear it either. The kick is pretty pansy as well. Might want to give it a bit more umph, and maybe drop a snare on every 2nd or something to make it stand out a bit

thx for the suggestions
but what about the warmth of the whole song?

i use logic audio .. and soundforge

equalizing equalazing and equalazing.....not enough tweaking on the EQ .....

just tweak tweak and tweak untill you get the best sound....for ex, the kick need a more distinct and hitting sound, the perc need more high EQ and so on....just tweak tweak tweak

Did you master your track? If not, your problems can solved if you use something like Ozone.

Mastering will improve things, but won't solve the problem completely here.

I listened to the sample, and you say there is a bassline. But it's almost unnoticeable. That makes me think you should take more time actually mixing the track. Sounds and samples seem to be ok, but their mutual relation is not in balance.

Usually when mixing electronic music, you take the kick+bassline as the basis of your tune. They carry all the rest. So define their volumes first (and to make it sound as the bassline sticks to the kick, you may have to use EQ and compression). Then start to adjust the rest of the percussion according to those two, and then slowly work your way through all the other instruments/events, always according to that backbone you established in the first place.

I strongly suggest you visit www.trancesystem.com, and look up the article Fat Bottom Blues in the production tutorials. That should get you started.

If you want more info, go to www.studiocovers.com, LOOOOOOT's of articles there. It's a goldmine I tell you.
