Airwave Omnisphere 2 Library
Looks like Airwave is putting out a sick sounding Omnisphere 2 library soon on Pluginguru with all kinds of old and new school sounds, crazy one finger patches, and even multis. There is alot of percussion stuff included as well which is one of the areas Omni's library is lacking and damn do they sound great.
I heard the acid patch and I thought there was no way that could be Omnisphere

Instant buy for me when this comes out, wish I had even half of the sound design talent hopefully I can learn a thing or ten from the library about this type of sound design.

k XD
I don't really get those one finger presets that PG is so fond of
They show off what a synth can do (kinda) but they're almost always unusable.
It's like the Wavestation happened in the 90s, and he just can't let go.......

That is true RANN, but its useful to get a context as far as where a certain sound would fit if it wasn't immediately obvious. At their worst they are still better than loops because you can pick them apart and use the individual elements.
I did rely heavily on one finger stuff when I was just starting out and I think they are fun to mess around with now and seeing what other sound designers do with just a single patch can be inspiring. Would I use one as is in a finished track? No.
I still think they can be purely for fun/inspiration and serve as a placeholder much like a drum loop.
Nice of Airwave to do this, cheers.
There's a difference between a decent sequenced preset and the kind of preset that's virtually a mix in itself.
The former being often useful and legitimate, the latter being programmers wanking off to themselves.

| Originally posted by cryophonik You say that like it's a bad thing. I mean, c'mon, how many sound designers do you know that can resist it when you get one of those bouncy, bubbly arps going, then you realize that you have even more of them to play with, and the next thing you know, you feel that little tingly sensation as you layer more and more arps together, frolicking and rubbing so gently against one another...ooooohhhhhhhh...... |
Its out today!
Going to check it out
EDIT:
Half way through and damn, these are really really good.
Alot of extremely usable stuff in here that I can tell will get abused. Some of the better use of Omnisphere I have seen even looking at plugin guru's stuff which is really really good.
Thank you Airwave for releasing this... much easier to learn how to make many of these sounds from someone who has been doing this for a long time!
Thanks for watching and eventually supporting with a purchase. We got amazing response on this library and to be honest this is very encouraging.
There's a patch and multi-update coming up. Some people were complaining about the CPU usage of some multis so we made Lite versions of some of them.
Also I heard some people complain about the eq'ing of the kicks so we had to take care of those too.
It's almost done, and soon, there'll be a new update.
Take care
Laurent
