PLANNING a trip FOR outter towner! Help

hey peeps - East Coast TA

my friends are planning a trip to east coast in December ,and
we heard a lot of great club to hit in NY,DC, and even boston
need a little help here
and greatly appreciate..
can someone decribe the venue, crowd, and atmosphere..and the sound system..say club like Roxy, ARc, Nation, Glow, or Avalon..

Roxy - 18+ depends on who is spinning. fridays they have been bringing in some good talent. saturdays are gay so i haven't been. fridays the club is usually a drinking crowd, fairly attractive. it is 18+ so you will see lots of scantily clad little girls. but some djs will bring their own crowds (like last night for sasha or next week for PVD) so in that case the club will have a different vibe. it is a decent space, pretty big. they have a phazon system but the space is too big for it so the sound is always spotty. the party usually dies by 5.

Arc - 18+ my absolute favorite venue in nyc. but they don't have a liquor lisence if you are a drinker. danny teneglia spins every friday but he is on and off IMO and brings a horrible crowd. still it is worth checking out. saturdays at arc are amazing (that is why i am there every week - this may be biased btw) last saturday of every month is danny howells and they bring in some other amazing talen: lawler, marcov, sven vath, picotto, saaeed & palash, sander kleinenberg.... so many djs a killer party every week. the crowd is awesome - so real. there is no dress code there and it is a relatively small space but it is amazing. if you go, show up late and realize that the best music you will hear will be from 6 am until 9 am +.

Nation - you have probably heard of nation cause that is where buzz usued to be held. sadly, the buzz party was shut down last month. nation has a good gay party on saturdays, so i hear, but friday it is no longer the best party in the country.

Glow - i don't like glow. they bring in some awesome djs - AVB, j00f, ferry, pvd, geilen, marcov.... but i just don't like the space that much. i can't say anything about the vibe cause when i went i was surrounded by ppl from NY who i knew.

Avalon - never been but i heard good things about it despite that it closes at 2. others on this board will know.

and you forgot sound factory. johnathan peters spins house there every saturday - sunday morning, really cause no one shows up until at least 6 am. i have never been and i don't know if i will but this party is know for a very family like atmosphere. amdmaxx can give details - he goes every week.

clubs are f*** rip-off, our party always end at 4 sharp, sometimes even early
and i would never understand why there are
AFTER-HOUR club
club should just have hour like 11pm-8am
PVD, TIESTO would never play encore because of stupid promoter!

Cant wait to go party in NYC!

sure - just let us know when you are coming and we can give more info on specific parties. and fyi - covers are very expensive in ny.

also, do you post on clubplanet as well?

Avalon - 1. you WILL get thrown out at 2 am. no questions.
2. There are tons of people with GF 'making out' in the middle of the dance floor.
3. Carpeted floors, everywhere but on the dancefloor, hence dancing is hard.
4. too quiet
5. too many people (imho)
6. parking is a BITCH

Great fooking Idea man. I dont want to start it up to early or people will loose intrest. Maybee in a week or 2.

k i would suggest ferry - not that i don't love armin but if you come for ferry the 27th you can stay for your choice of marco v at arc the 28th or pvd @ glow (in dc) the 28th. that combination has got to be pretty appealing... plus if you do that you get to meet mr. starfox, which i know is a dream of every TA.
