Friday you really shouldn't miss Amine Edge & DANCE, the frenchies bring all the girls out.

Saturday there is so much good stuff. Motez, Eats Everything, Kidnap Kid, Gorgon City, my boy ALX, Cocodrills is always fun.

Last but not motherfucking least is THE MAGICIAN. Anyone who misses that, I feel sorry for you. That dude always brings the best vibes and women.

Sunday actually looks good

I hopped on this last minute after my friend invited me.

My only must-sees are Kidnap Kid and The Magician. I'm also happy there's some DnB sprinkled here and there

Prydz and Corsten being on at the same time is sure to spark an argument in my group :P

it must have been one of my jokes from the sub conscious. I have tons of those and I don't even realize it.

All things considered, Saturday night in the Techno Room sounds like it could be the best after party of the weekend.

The Review:

Friday started with Ferry Corsten, still banging it hard and putting on a great show. Much love for Ferry. Then moved over to the mainstage for Eric Prydz who definitely did not disappoint. Great crowd, great set, great stage. The lights, pyro, lasers, and everything were amazing at kineticfield. Calvin Harris was on next, and he was the second biggest disappointment of the weekend. Calvin Harris IS NOT A DJ. The dude seriously just stood there and "pressed play" on one song after another. No mixing, no nothing. Totally weak, and I'm very disappointed in the crowd for encouraging a performance like that. So I bailed on Harris and went over to the neongarden for PvD. That was actually sad. Paul seriously has lost it. The crowd was weak, his set was mediocre, his mixing was slipping and he was clipping the mixer so bad that the bass was totally distorted and just sounded like ass. After that major disappointment, I just kind of wandered around with some friends and enjoyed the spectacle that was EDC. I did catch a little of Tiesto, and he still sounds exactly the same as he did a decade ago.

Saturday, I got back to the festival around 7:00, just in time to catch the last few tracks from Justin Martin. He sounded great from what I caught and the crowd was loving it. The magician followed and I was very impressed from this dude that I had never heard of. Awesome set, awesome crowd interaction, and lots and lots of fun. Gorgon city was on next, and this duo brought it real. Nice dirty house vibes. The crowd was loving it, and everyone was rocking their socks off. With about 5 min left in Gorgon City's set, Claude Von Stroke made his way on stage. There were some handshakes and hugs as Gorgon City handed it off to Get Real, and at one point I KNOW that Claude told them to leave their last track going for him. This made me very happy. He was the first DJ of the weekend that I saw build his set right off the end of another. Everyone else had to break it down and start from scratch. Props to Claude for being a true practitioner of the art of DJing. And from there, the nastiness began.

Get Real (Claude Von Stroke & Green Velvet) hands down, ruled the festival for me. Deep, dirty, gritty, glitchy, techy goodness that had everybody jumpin. Green Velvet did some DJing as well as what I would consider MCing. Towards the end of the set, it was Green Velvet on the mic and Claude on the decks. The only track I could ID was "la la land" by Green Velvet. Although claude dropped in a sick sample from the movie "apocalypse now" that blew my mind. I tell you, that Claude Von Stroke is one bad, bad man. Loved every second of it.

As for the electric daisy carnival itself, this was the best festival I've ever been to. It was extremely well organized and planned. The sound was amazing, the visuals stunning, the only lines that were slow to move were for the rides, and all of the staff were very helpful and friendly. Insomniac put on one helluva party for sure. And how could I forget, THE GIRLS!!! I think it speaks volumes to the scene that women are comfortable dressing in whatever they want and nobody seems to really get creepy or bother them about it.

Well, it was real. I hope to meet some of you there next year...
