How was Scream 2?

yah, so how was it?

It was pretty good.

I didn't go to Ressurection so I didn't know what to expect from Red's. Having now been to Scream 2, I think it's a great place for parties. It took a long time to get in since security was being such a bitch. There was tons of space to dance but if you want to get in front of the main stage, good luck. There was a good variety of music but I stayed around the main stage mostly. Angel Alanis was finishing up in the main room when I arrived. It sounded pretty bumpin'. BT was a bit of a letdown. I didn't find his set too consistant and his mixing was kind of bad. It was mostly electro type stuff but he threw in some of his classics like Mercury and Solace, Godspeed and Dreaming but they didn't fit in with the rest of what he was playing. Mike Downey was amazing as usual. Is it me or is he Edmonton's resident headliner. I don't mind it though, he always blows me away. He played some good hard trance. DJ Emotion was also quite impressive. Her set had a few hard house classics. At the end of it though, I'm not sure if it was her or not but Push - Strange World (2000 remake) came on. That was awesome!!! All in all it was a cool night. Made up for Nexus.

It was nice meeting a fellow TA'er. How did your night go J-Spot?

Scream was one of the best parties Edmonton has had. Cziolek was rockin, as was Angel Alanis. BT WAS THE SHIT!!! He started with some sweet breakz, and led into techier stuff, that was slammin. I thought his mixing was sweet. The pyros during Dreaming were wikkid as was ending his set off with Godspeed... a moment to remember. I thought Mike Downey sucked again. The only time I heard him play well was at Nexus and I realize now that it was because Azim was helpin him out. In Calgary and at Scream, he played hard housey style... terrible. He had some good tracks like Memory, but they were all sped up so much, it was brutal. Slav came on and rocked it, though. All in all, a great great party!!!

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree...

By the way, did everyone read their wristbands?

DJ Tiesto @ Bronze on Dec. 11th.

OMG!!!

i had one of the best nights of my life there
i guess that had to do with the altered state of mind i was in

but anywho
i caught the first part of BT's set
then i was hanging out in the jungle room for Kenny Ken and caught most of his set
Kenny Ken was soooo drunk, and he was having a shitload of technical problems
then i went over and caught the last part of BTs set
those pyros... OMG
i thought i was going to die
sensory overload
all i could do was stand there and cheer
i don't have much of a voice left

i caught bits and pieces of emotion's set as well
she still hot as ever
but she's still snobby as fuck
i went to talk to her and she's like, who are you, i don't know you
and i was like, oh, alright, smell ya
we used to talk and hang out like a year ad a half ago
then she stopped returning my calls

all she needs to do is smile and intereact with the crowd a little bit and she'll rock
all she does is stand there and mix looking like she's bored

reds is a cool venue
i had a great time
there wasn't really a vibe there, just between our group
i think it's just cause the place is so spread out and the fact there was booze sold (no complaints though) and i think a bunch of people were there just cause it was at reds
it just seemed to me like a pumped up club night to me and not a rave

but i still had an awesome night
i think i shall be partying in edmonton more often

I spent my night wandering between the house room and the mainstage
Angel alanis went from hard techno into house, he also played Gull )) he abused the onboard mixer FX IMO but still was fine.
BT played a good set, I didn't notice any shite mixing at all, and I shit myself when he spun mercury & solace.. actually, i was in constant state of shitting myself. Security was pushing us back away from the stage at one point and everyone was pissed off... some hot lady in a red boa kept testing security and dancing past them: Turns out that it was because of the pyro and there has to be a certain distance between pyro and audience, or else party gets shut down and promoters get fined.
Got to talk to Brian after his set, if I would have had waited 5 minutes after, I could have hung out in the back, but thats okay He wants to come back this spring to do a live concert after the album is finished/released. Booya.
just hope the ringing in my right ear goes away soon, lol

Damn, I missed Gull, I should've cut in front of the line.

Posted by Tony Morello on Oct-29-2002 08:10:

we got there early and hung out in the mall before the doros opened
we wanted to be early in the lineup cause we heard that edmonton was horrible when it comes to lineups

so i was like the 10th person in line

i pretty much caught all of teh party
and when he played gull... omg
i went to the front and danced my ass off

i was on the balcony for the pyro
i wanted a good view so i could see it all
i did... and how

i saw everything, the lights, the stage, and all the flames and stuff going off behind him

Angel Alanis also played It Just Won't Do... sweetness. But BT stole the show. What a nice guy too. Props to Slavy for playing Dariush too... WOOHOO!!! And yeah, I thought a lot more ppl knew about Tiesto prior to the party, but i'm glad the cat's outta the bag so I can actually talk to ppl about it
