Terrorist Attack Paris Shooting

European members, can anyone comment on just exactly WTF is going on there. At this moment it seems like at least 30 dead, multiple suicide bombings, and a large number of hostages. No many other details though. The story is still unfolding.

Many questions, few answers right now. What a mess again

There was a friendly football match between France and Germany too.

The bomb(s) went of outside the stadium they said.

The most recent thing I've read, aside from the shootings and explosions, is that approximately 60 people have been taken hostage at a heavy metal concert, and there's some kind of shoot out with police happening.

Posted by Godking5 on Nov-13-2015 22:43:

Multiple attacks. One was at a death metal music hall .

Posted by planetaryplayer on Nov-13-2015 22:55:

I wonder if the hostage survivors from the death metal concert will feel more deadly afterwards.

On a side note I'm hearing a hindered hostages minimum 35 people confirmed dead, and four different attacks

France is closing its borders, president Hollande just said.
He also declared a state of emergency.

60 people are held hostage at the death metal concert right now.

Within the span of a couple of days. Baghdad , Beirut , and Paris.

43 dead from ISIS attacks in Beirut the other day.

Now at least 60 dead and coutning in paris.

Multiple attacks in Paris as well, so not just the music hall but other locations including the soccer stadium.

Surprised the police have not yet raided the music hall.

I imagine that's a pretty tricky situation though, with hostages in there. You can't just storm the place or they might shoot all those people.

Also many people already were able to leave the building.

They say there were shooting at six locations.

Firstly, I'm not one for overreaching PC, but you're a real cunt and this was not funny to anyone except in your pathetic child-like mind. I hope swamper or stu perma ban you for this, you wanker.

Back OT, this is terrible and I feel for Paris right now. Hope all our Paris TA's and their families are ok.

News saying 100 confirmed dead and rumours have it around 140ish ? Not sure how accurate our media is. 7 attacks though ?

100 at Bataclan, 40 elsewhere. Unfortunately, that's quite possible, given the high number of attacks.

It wasn't a hostage situation, it was a terrorist attack where the shooters came in, shouted "Allahu Akbar," and started killing at random as many people as they could.

Sky News: 158 killed in Paris terror attacks. 5 attackers dead, so far.

I can't believe they're still having heavy metal concerts.

Posted by planetaryplayer on Nov-14-2015 01:49:

I read a similar article saying some people heard nothing and some said allahu akbar. No new news has broken for about 40 mins so it seems to have quieted down. No matter what culture what can possibly explain the need to kill people. What will it accomplish for their life. I mean can someone really think killing random people will grant them access to heaven

Posted by AlphaStarred on Nov-14-2015 02:20:

One witness from the theater described the scene: saw two terrorists with ak-47s, firing randomly into the crowd. The terrorists were very calm and very determined and reloaded 3 or 4 times. According to him, they didn't say or shout anything. According to another witness, one of the shooters shouted, "This is for Syria. Allahu Akbar!" and started shooting.

Jihadis do, yes.

I just heard an interview with someone on NPR, who is currently locked in a cafe that gunmen tried and failed to storm.

They said the guys approached, the woman owner saw them coming, locked the doors and they tried to kick and shoot their way in while everyone hid under the tables. They couldn't enter so went in to the place next door then started shooting people in there and in street. Some of the people in the cafe were photographers and managed to open a curtain to take some snaps and saw guys with AK's and people lying on the floor, presumably dead or wounded. It apparently was a good 10 mins before they heard any sirens.

French security forces have apparently killed at least 5 of the attackers.

Posted by AlphaStarred on Nov-14-2015 02:45:

Two of the attackers from one of the cafes are still unaccounted for.

Will be interesting to see how people in america spin this for gun advocation and open carries.

On my facebook timeline, people are already commenting on how france has strict gun laws, which helped to contribute to the large body count and inability to stop the terrorists early.

2 or 3 of those were from the theater who actually blew themselves up after the police stormed it.

Oh god no. Seems like Rob Lowe also put his foot in his mouth too.

Honestly I don't know what all the fuss is about. There was plenty of death at the concert, maybe the attendees didn't get to hear enough metal?
