I think this is kinda pointless...I mean you need at least some basic equipment to spin, like tables, speakers, needles, mixer etc...
But just for the sake of it...either my headphones(Sony MDRV700) or my vinyl collection.

shompton's actually right phu. it's the man behind the decks who does the mixing, not the equipment itself, so inevitably it's the dj, with his ear, feel and style who's most valuable =)

my technix.

My MDR-V700!

close by my pair of GMII ( i got cheap TT )

Posted by MERiDiAN5i2 on Oct-29-2002 17:55:

i was thinking about this last night...

my records!! (and DAMN do they add up! 300 records @ ~8/ea = $2400 )

ok, so it's not hardware.. but it's required physical stuff to get my groove on.. and i've spent more money on records than anything else.

Cool

it should always be yourself, if u value a piece of machinery more than yourself u have no chance.

Posted by hapamoto on Oct-29-2002 19:35:

my ears.. and don't give me this crap about that not counting.. TT's, mixer, amp, speakers, cd decks, blah blah, yah i got all that and it all had price tags attached to them, but ya know what, they can all be replaced.. your ears can't.. thus:
ears/ability to listen = priceless = most valuable piece(s) of equipment

Posted by MERiDiAN5i2 on Oct-29-2002 22:55:

i never have, and never will, consider myself to be a machine, piece of equiptment, or for that matter, piece of meat.

exactly wat i'm trying to say my record collection is worth 10 times more than my equipment. I have 800 - 1000 records and its 15.99 canadian each plus taxes.
