Why are there different release dates for this game? On the grand theft auto newsgroup, some people are getting the game tonight, some tomorrow. I pre-ordered from Toys R Us, and they will have it on 10/30/02. The commercials also say release date is on 10/29/02.

Do different stores get it sooner?

according to the store manager, they were the only location in north america to get it today,,, but according to some other people's posts, I guess he was wrong.

but.. i didnt feel like getting it, cause Suikoden III came out!!

i hope they ship my copy early since i preordered it. the later i gets here the better tho. otherwise i should just drop out of school right now|

Still too busy with NBA Live 2003 and Tekken 4. Probably going to get Smackdown when it comes out too. That means GTA will probably have to wait for about 6 weeks.

The game is totally sold out here...my friend went out last night to 10 stores....and he finally picked up a copy at the last store: KB Toys. It was their last copy too, so technically they are all sold out.

Around here a few of my friends were able to just walk in and buy it as well. One of them bought it on Wednesday or Thursday! I always stress about finding a console...now those are hard to find when they first come out.

well maybe preorder wasnt necessary for you. but then again i had my copy shipped on mon night and it arrived friday at my doorstep for what it would have cost at a store around here, and i didnt have to exert myself at all in the process|
