Hello! It is FRIDAY - Part 47

The weekend approacheth...

Jealous of those in Miami this weekend ...some of which are now on the beach hung over in this position:

My sister is in Miami this weekend actually.

As soon as I'm off work I'll be doing laundry, then going to a friend's costume party. And hopefully we'll get to bring a few girls back to the place once it slows down.

Stream Life in full effect at the hostel.

In complete darkness, listening to techno. Gonna go play Fun Run 2 on my phone then watch old re-runs of House MD. Maybe read a bit on psycho-pharmaceutical medication. We've had an interesting case with a bi-polar girl with psychotic symptoms which was gliding more and more towards not recognizing the difference between reality and hallucination. So we put her on a high dose of Zyprexa and she snapped back to reality.

F1 season starts this weekend, first race Down Under. Hope Max will do Max.
First tomorrow morning at 9 with my son at the soccer field, afternoon swimming, then visit my sister for her Birthday.

I'm so glad I'll never have kids.

My car broke down and towed to the dealer but my parents loaned me a car so I'm back in business.

Went for another hike this morning. On the way back I spotted a bird called a Lewin's Rail, which was cool because they're very rare. Rare to the point that if I were to mention the sighting to any of the birding groups around Brisbane, literally hundreds of people would turn up where I spotted it, within an hour, trying to get a look at the thing I didn't have my cam, so no pics. Plus, it fucked off as soon as it saw me.

I notice online they're not endangered, so why are they so rare? Do they just hate people and fuck off when they hear humans approaching?

Girlfriend and I are going out for some cocktails and jazz tonight, but I'm spending the day doing research. Tomorrow will probably be slow and lazy.

Yeah, they're extremely shy and don't like people at all. Also, it depends on where in Australia you are. In most places around Brisbane here, they're considered endangered and hence quite rare. Other areas/states have higher populations of them.

I worked, huzzah.

In the day I went to the bank to have my name changed, and opened up an RRSP. Moved my savings into mutual funds too. Figured with this second job I should get a little more aggressive about the way I save money.

Adulting, yay!

trying to do a sober month so i parked my ass at home and ignored phone calls lol. Every innocent sounding invite i got somewhere ended up being a shit show from the sounds of it. I am happy I decided to stay in. By the way I am beginning to realize toronto is a concrete jungle with nothing else to do but go out and drink at nights. I am not anti alcohol but jesus it would be nice to have other options. I guess thats what you get when you build a city in the middle of nowhere with the next major city being 5+ hours away by car.

Posted by Silky Johnson on Mar-20-2016 18:56:

Omg after St Paddy's day I totally need a sober month. Although I don't really drink often, just when I do I pound hard and stay out all hours of the night, lulz.

Posted by planetaryplayer on Mar-20-2016 19:16:

everytime i drink, its minimum half a 26 for pre drink, sometimes a full bottle.. then drinks at the bar. i have about two or three groups of friends, based on common interests, and two of those groups don't drink so its not so bad. its been about a year of being single, so i might get on that tinder game. i don't think i can date anyone though. the last one was a bad experience.

got the day off and kinda wish i said yes when i got called in to work

Posted by Silky Johnson on Mar-20-2016 19:23:

Yeah that's sort of why I'm ok with a second job. Not that I totally waste all my time off, but there are certainly many of my days off that I could be doing something way more productive. Might as well make money. Fortunately I do love what I do so that makes all the difference.

I don't remember what I did last Friday, which means it was either terrible or terrific

What happened with the last time you tried?

That sober career went down with a bottle of beer

I wish I could say this is a serious problem. That I'm a terrible drunk and I get into trouble but it's not like that. I'm a pretty responsible drunk. i have cut off limits I don't drink throughout the week. I'm a weekend warrior but still I need those weekends and I don't like needing anything. That's where the problem stems.so no it's not like I get the shakes or hallucinate when I don't drink, and no I don't drink everyday. But I don't like having to drink every weekend either and goddamb it's hard not too.

I got away with it this weekend though. THats a huge victory. Easter will be my real test. It's hard to say no when the homemade vino is pouring

You're Italian, right?

Italians are bad drinkers until they stop wearing too much cologne at the big clob while hitting on, well, every one, and only getting into fights when there are like 30 buff Italians surrounding them.

That is how literally every 9-3 club night went when I was 17 and thought I knew what dance music was because I liked Call on Me, and went to the so called "18+" places that were just 16 year old girls and 20 year old Italians hitting on them after $900 bottle service.

Now my Italian friends are actually just reasonable people that drink responsibly, don't "bro" me too much, and still get slapped by their mothers in public for reasons I have yet to understand.

Costume party wasn't as cracking as I thought it be. Had a very nice gourmet burger though. Weekend ended up being chill, got a lot of shit done for the next work week.

sometimes, you learn which it was..when you go to a bar a few weekends later........you know its bad...if you walk into the bar and the bartender, says "sorry, we cant serve you"..(and you have no idea why)

other times, its not quite as bad...still not good, but if you notice random numbers in your phone, and you call them, or they call you and ask you if you want to meet up (again?) an you go out, just because youre curious. and the shes not completely ugly..

Posted by Sushipunk on Mar-24-2016 06:35:

On the eve on a 4 day long weekend here. I must thank Jesus for that at some point. I'm a few glasses of wine in, already, so cheers people
