Love is in the air Girlfriends & Trance

Does anyone find their girlfriends get in the way of enjoying trance and vice versa?? I do. (i hope she doesnt read this)

Posted by Psygnosis on Oct-30-2002 05:24:

Nope, she loves RnB....thats why it's so hard.

she hates trance because she says it keeps repeating too much....

yeh whatever, and RNB doesn't, whatever she reckons.

Well, you know a song is an absolute choon when my girlfriend goes "hmmm, that one's not too bad". Mind you, vocals are an absolute must. Any song without vocals is just "repetitive".

Songs which have recently reached my gf's "not too bad" category include:
Riva - Time is the healer (Armin van Buuren vocal mix)
Push vs Sunscreem - Please save me
M-Diva - Reachin' out
Thrillseekers - Dreaming of you
Catch - Walk on water (Above & Beyond mix)
Madelyne - Beautiful child (Hiver & Hammer mix)

Songs which have recently reached the "it would be OK if it had vocals in it" category include:
Darren Tate vs Jono Grant - Let the light shine in
Firewall - Touched
Rapid Eye - Circa Forever (Iberia Main Room Mix)

My girlfriend likes trance, she does prefer tracks with vocals but will listen to anything.

Posted by PulsatE on Oct-30-2002 06:07:

yeah most gals seem to go for r&b, or might just like the more commercial dance/trance kinda stuff. r&b ain't bad tho

Posted by Chuck Norris on Oct-30-2002 06:26:

I think my girlfriends more into rap/rnb but i think she likes that eurodance shit like Novaspace - Time After Time etc.

Posted by jc on Oct-30-2002 06:27:

no gf atm but I would never ever date a girl who didnt have respect for trance, I think i would feel insulted hehe

Posted by Philby on Oct-30-2002 06:54:

hah. when i have a girlfriend i'll let you know

Posted by Lanithium on Oct-30-2002 07:17:

my girlfriend has pretty much the exact same tastes in music as i do... which is great!

i make alot of mixtapes for her car for us to listen to when were driving places.. good to get feedback from someone on my mixing/tune selection..

its great not having a gf telling you turn that shit off everytime u put on some music u like! its also perfect for when events come around cos theres no argueing on if were going or not, or who to see!

im very happy with the way things are

Posted by Decepticon on Oct-30-2002 08:21:

Gees u got it set Lanithium!

My girl is a Kylie fan, not saying anything bad about her cause she is an aussie and is doing pretty good for herself, but after hearing her music played over and over again it does tend to get a bit on the nerves.
She's also into all those eurodance song's as well like Time after time.
But if i do put on a few of my Trance cd's she only tends to like the one's with "pretty" vocals in it as she puts it.

Posted by jizza on Oct-30-2002 10:18:

my girlfriend couldn't give a rat's arse what I listen to...

but then again it's hard to find an opinionated blow-up doll these days.

Nah seriously though, I'm thinkin' about getting a new one.

Posted by narcism on Oct-30-2002 10:28:

yeah well my gf.....
has the queer as folk soundtrack....

HAHAHA all i can say is that it is so much better when the other half actually likes and respects trance... it makes it more special & thats one more thing that the 2 of u have in common

i haven't dated a person who actually likes trance... so i cant comment altho my ex was a gabba freak

Posted by matt_a on Oct-30-2002 10:42:

Girlfriend = Not at Moment
Trance = Yes Please!

I wouldn't last long with a girl who didn't respect trance. Whether she liked it or not just as long as she respected it, because she'd be hearing alot of it! And I hope she doesn't mind geting no presents also. Records cost money! lol
I wish I had a gf

Its a tough life isnt Mike :P

Posted by Ves on Oct-30-2002 11:25:

i'm a swingin' single...

ideally i would want a boyfriend that loved trance just as much as me, but i never get what i want
i don't think i could date someone who hated trance. he wouldn't have to love trance, but he'd definitely have to respect my taste in music.

Posted by stamper on Oct-30-2002 12:14:

If I were single i would go for you Ves. Its very hard to find a girl out there that likes trance.

Posted by DynaFire on Oct-30-2002 13:42:

My girlfriend likes trance... she likes stuff like Armin VB, Blank and Jones and PVD,.... I'm more into german acid techno, like traccid style or Headline, etc. Also older tiesto style. I like breaks more than her. She's not a big fan of hard techno, but doesn't mind it. Pretty much she has the same tastes as me..... except for my love of bob dylan :-) It's ALL good! I think i'm a lucky man.

Posted by SteveStrangis on Oct-30-2002 13:49:

"Do you like trance music?"
"what is that like hardcore technos? stuff that go's Boom Boom Boom?"
"Thats it this relationship is over!"

nah j/k

but i will choose Trance over a girl anytime, so id prefer to have one thats into trance.

Posted by stipsy on Oct-30-2002 13:52:

i prefer someone who doesnt like the scene...

Posted by Simon00 on Oct-30-2002 22:15:

Hello!

My g/f loves the 98-99 sound and most of the music i like but generally hates it monday to friday. As for her description of prog, boring and doesn't go anywhere.(Terry?!)

There, that's better.
