I imagine he had his flaws (who doesn't?), and don't know much about how well he did as a mayor. Still, you have to admit, he made a lot of people laugh, all over the world. Unfortunately, as with so many people who have the gift of making others laugh, there was an element of tragedy in his own life. I was sad to hear the news, and hope he managed to find some joy and peace, even in the difficult circumstances of his final years.
