Anyone else into glowsticking?

and just curious: what's your opinion on it as a dance?

there is a lot of bitterness about glowsticks in NYC. but if you can do it well then i like it a lot. if not, it takes up too much space on the dance floor and is irritating.

It seems to be a Scandinavian/North-American thing. Germans and Dutch don't do it, although some carry glowstick around. Especially those small ones to chew on

i got into poi a year ago and im pretty good now... its been more of a relaxation/meditation ritual for me more so than taking it to clubs or raves... ive done it a few times out and people have told me its old but i dont care... i enjoy it

I wouldn't call myself a rabit glowsticker, but I do like to experiment with them.
Never did the Poi (with the strings)...
I'd probably poke my eye out or something...

I dont like it when people just carry them around and wave them in the air or something, but people who are good at liquid can do some amazing things with them. Poi is fun, but not at @ party or club, takes way too much room, you gotta stand way back in the corner and be careful not to whack someone.

Glowsticks in your hands dont take but maybe 3 inches of additional length, so if you complain that theres not enough room for them you need to drop a few (hundred) pounds . Glowsticks on strings on the dancefloor is very annoying though, or those huge rope glowsticks.

Oh well, theyre fun little things, but over abused.

yeah generally ill get in there when people start showing their stuff in the middle of big circle : ) other than that.... i guess i confine myself in my little dorrm...with the lights off.... and people of nashville, tn trying to figure out what the hell is going on inside my room : D

have many glowsticks..use them in special events...big ones...small ones...20cm long ones which u can use e.g. as a bracelet....but its often unusual,you dont see very much glowstickers here...sad...caus its awful...but takes a lot of space...practice at home but not very good so far :-)

When I first got into the scene a few years ago, I loved to dance with glowsticks, but I've sort of lost interest in it now. It was a lot of fun though, just not as into it as I was.

yea it was something i was into at first...then i got into raving with photon lights...then i just found dancing by itself much more fun. but i'm bringing my lights to PvD tomorrow...i'll see if i still have my shit together.
