We can reveal that the number 1 DJ in DJ Magazine's top 100 poll is Tiesto for the year 2002. RA columnist Ferry Corsten scored a top 10 ranking at number 9 while Cass ranked 102.
The following are a few select placings.
1. Tiesto
2. Sasha
3. John Digweed
4. Paul Van Dyk
5. Armin Van Buuren
6. Paul Oakenfold
9. Ferry Corsten
10. Lee Burridge
12. Danny Howells
102. Cass
ABout time tiesto won this and finally armin gets a ranking that is at least acceptable

damn, that looks nice armin on #5
I just saw this on http://www.residentadvisor.com.au/

I already posted this in the other thread but oh well...
I don't think that this is confirmed,,, but I think these guys will all be up there (in no order):
PvD
Tiesto
Sasha
Digweed
Armin (hopefully) ;-)
AND about Tiesto no deserving to be up there...
Maybe all of you guys who talk shit about Tiesto don't like his style of Prog that he switched to,,, one thing you have to realize that many people don't even realize this. These people aren't educatd about music like you guys are and Tiesto is thier favorite DJ for whatever reason. I bet Tiesto would get voted #1 in my city by the reaction he recieved when he was here,,, and I'm sure it's no diffrent in most cities around the world as well. I don't know if he derserve to be number 1 over anyone else up there but he's deffinetly in the top 5 IMO.
~my 2 cents~
Will you look at that, Oakenfold outnumbers Corsten.
Not bad from a chap that wanted to move from his country because of
the bad reception of Bunkka.

residentadvisor is probably the most unreliable info source I've ever come across
I will be incredibly surprised if Sasha, let alone Tiesto, get voted ahead of Digweed
&
Lee Burridge - The emerging talent of the breaks/house world
Danny Howells - Another emerging talent of the house world
Cass - Been at it a long time, forms part of Cass & Slide (Perception), runs FIRE records and is so much more deserving than 102 ffs
the fact that armin van buuren is #5 and Judge Jules is #7 means the poll is stupid, I'm not having a dig at trance here, but the fact remains that there are a lot better dj's in a whole range of genres than them. Where's the likes of Andy C, LTJ Bukem, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin in that list? it is a void.

Az: Thanks for the top-100 list, I was looking for that at the website, but I just can't find the damn thing
These rankings just reflect popularity, not skills. DUH! So I think they're pretty accurate (even if i personally think Tiesto does deserve that spot). Armin and Ferry are not that well known outside of Europe, but most people know by now who Tiesto is.

| Originally posted by Az Maaz, I got that from another forum, but someone who has the DJmag says Tiesto didn't win, Sasha did, with Digweed second. He did post, but it's been deleted for some strange reason |
Anyway, if you find the real list, could you post it?
(or, if you don't feel like writing too much, just pm me the link
)
Oakenfold shouldn't be top 20,I don't know if any of you have seen his weak ass music video with some boy band buddy but as far as the Dj scene (TODAY) goes theres know fuckin way he should be top ten in my opinion. I know its popularity contest but that just pisses me off. I have respect for Tiesto and what he does, but #1?
Tks Top Ten:
1.Sasha
2.PVD
3.Armin
4.Digweed
5.Judge
6.Ferry
7.Danny Howells
8.Johan Gielen
9.Hybrid
10.Tiesto
Johan was fuckin 50th. and what about Circulation they didn't even make the top 100. WEAK!!

The people asking who Lee Burridge is...
rookies
I'm surprised that Nick Warren, Dave Seaman and Satoshi Tomiie didn't place higher...I mean, they're only better than half the DJ's in the top 10
I'm a little skeptical about this being the official list, but oh well.
