The area is a cozy little place, there are parking garages around the corner, very intimate.

Got tix! Definitely going. Can't wait!!

Where the f*** was everyone? About 20 people showed up and only half were actually dancing on the dance floor.

The lack of support was an abomination to the trance community.

Where were the so called "MIA trance addicts" or "trance family?"

This is not the first time something like this happens, in which trance shows have produced poor turnouts in Miami. It's pathetic. I've seen and I know there are Miami "fans" out there.

MIA Trance fans are clearly not as devoted and only cater to the glamour shows -- the PvD elitists.

I believe the event organizers are partly to blame as well in terms of marketing and organization.

Posted by maxdady25 on Jun-27-2016 18:04:

I was disappointed in the turn-out as well. I showed up around 1130pm and they were just starting to set up the DJ booth and a lot of people were still eating dinner. On the tickets it stated 10pm as the start time. Promoter clearly made a mistake there. One couple and myself were the only people present for this event so I was beginning to think no one else was going to show up. Roger Shah went up to the DJ booth at around 1230am and still no one showed. I felt bad for him having to play to an empty room essentially. I was about to walk out right around 1am but then a group of 6-7 people showed up whom I later found out were friends of Brian and Suzy. So I met them and hungout with them on the dance floor the rest of the night. Roger Shah played an amazing set! He even played my favorite Shah track of all time Back To You (Aly & Fila remix). He played a lot of high energy tracks along with some slower melodic tracks like Who Will Find Me. He also played Motorcycle - As The Rush Comes (Tiesto mix?) and a track by Push/M.I.K.E. that I can't name. He stopped at 3am even though the tickets indicated stop time of 4am. There was supposed to be a closer but I'm sure the promoter told him not to come since not many showed up. I was happy to experience 2.5 hours of great trance music even though I was a little disappointed by the crowd or lack there of.

Just blame Juan. It's his fault no one showed up.

Posted by Carpe Noctum on Jun-28-2016 03:03:

Worst part is, word on the street is that the MIA trance addicts were at a house warming party, which I do not understand. Why not bring the party to Shah and pay respects to a veteran DJ with a unique style of trance -- Balearic? Artists like Shah need to be supported in order to propel the genre and cultivate musical diversity (e.g. Tech, psy/goa, uplifting, progressive, deep, hard, acid, ambient, chill-out, orchestral/classical, film-score/theatrical/epic, neo, among others). If not, trance becomes stagnant and we will soon be experiencing the vicious cycle of another drought.

However, given the superficial and glamorous nature/culture of Miami, I am not surprised to find a general disinterest in the lesser known/not as popular artists. Only time MIA "trance fans" come out is when the heavy weights do -- Armin, Schulz, PvD, A&B, Ferry, etc.

The Orlando scene is blowing Miami out of the water.

Oh yeah coming from someone who's been sleeping on the streets because he lost his wallet on the transit bus. Have you finally come to realize that nobody cares about your dumb endeavors in the core buddy?

LOL to each his own.

I'm not going to say Shah sucks and I am not going to say he is one of the best either (there's tons of DJs/produces I would select over him). However, I respect his unique Balearic style, which is why he was personally worth seeing.

Posted by OrangestO on Jun-28-2016 18:40:

Dude, you created this thread, and now you say he sucks? Lol.

Maybe I sleep on the streets, but you are truly the poor are lost soul.

Posted by Catbastard69 on Jun-28-2016 18:41:

tbh I actually never heard one set from the lad because nobody in Facebook groups talk about em tickets wise or music wise.

Peeps were talking about the sun lounger alias years ago and how that stuff can put you to sleep.

Why dont you post some examples of these bealieric sets cuz i never heard them.
