-- modern acid

modern acid

classy and acid don't seem to go hand in hand. not for me at least - until i uncovered this.

dark, atmospheric and restrained, yet still catchy and massive.

centered around a mesmerising three minute break, this is something special. not even within the constraints of acid... dance music in general. the execution here is perfection.

been loving the modernisation of acid, moving away from that old dated sound. producers like robert babicz... so it's good to see the original ambassador of acid coming out with something of this caliber.

if anyone has anything similar, serve it up

I heard that one but didn't like the vocal that much, otherwise its a nice track with an interesting structure.

Came across Satoshi Fumi who has a funky, loungey, atmospheric side with some acid sprinkled in there.

Another fav from last year, ambient acid trance which is a pretty rare mixture.

^Would also check out the Volksfreude Remix of this tune

"Josh Wink's Eyes Closed Interpretation"?

Heh, Winxy knows what's up.

edit: after listening, that's definitely quite the floaty bit of acid. Does one dare drop the dreaded 't' word upon it? Gurn on, sons.

I was going to post this in the track of the day thread but this post came just in time so I'll put this here instead. Probably not the best acid ever made but good EP overall, comes out next month.

Been also digging the releases from this duo act.

I wasn't really feeling this album overall but this single track on it is just too good.

i don't consider them vocals as such, i think they are phenomenal though.

still need to check these tunes out... my interest in acid has really snowballed over the past couple of years. considering it once as an outdated fringe style.

^Definitely an artist worth checking out.

^Old school Barry still throwing down some hits.

Wow, Satoshi Fumi is sickkk. I was only familiar with hsi track "Arashi" , but now i feel enticed to dig deeper into his collection.

For me, the best acid to come out recently is still Robert Babicz:

there's a Mono Electric Orchestra ambient mix of this without the drums... pretty mind blowing.

Yeah an ambient mix made for a pretty sweet pack.

808 State - In Yer Face (Bicep Acid Dub)

There's also another Bicep remix as well.

Was listening to this when I saw the thread title. Seems apt enough.
