Ahh, a theme mix.

My suggestion would be "Sunday Afternoon."

Not a bad idea at all. I'd be interested in that.

Yeah, I wanted to bring it back to ground level. Lots of possible directions for that too.

Now, people, get in on this shit.

Posted by ziptnf on Jun-23-2016 14:53:

Certainly a great idea and the clear front runner while more people sign up. Looking forward to seeing what other ideas challenge this one.

Posted by Mr Game+Watch on Jun-24-2016 17:55:

Been waiting for another one of these... I'll definitely be in. Don't really have any idea for a theme but I'd be cool with the Sunday Morning route.

Posted by Singularity55 on Jun-28-2016 04:43:

I'll be in as a listener.

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Jul-02-2016 11:42:

Doesn't seem like there'll be much to listen to.

Posted by ziptnf on Jul-02-2016 16:10:

We still have 3 weeks of signups. I know Dave King wanted in, perhaps he hasn't seen the thread yet.

This place has been quiet for the last few years anyway. Facebook killed forums.

Posted by Singularity55 on Jul-03-2016 15:19:

I'll have time for this sort of thing in nov/dec/jan/feb.

Posted by ziptnf on Jul-03-2016 15:19:

That's too damned bad.

Posted by Floorfiller on Jul-04-2016 15:11:

I've never posted a mix on TA before, but fuck it... Put me down I like the theme.

*goes digging*

Posted by djdk on Jul-05-2016 11:44:

Yes im in, I too like the proposed them

Posted by RebeL9 on Jul-06-2016 21:22:

Count me in.

Posted by Lews on Jul-08-2016 07:34:

I'm in, theme sounds good.

Posted by Mr.Mystery on Jul-19-2016 06:36:

You've still got a couple more days to enter.

Don't be afraid, it's all in the name of fun.

I'll do a mix, seeing as I actually have some decent gear now. Been slacking with my practicing. I have some ideas of what to play for this theme as well.

Posted by planetaryplayer on Jul-22-2016 16:17:

i kind of want to make a mix with this theme but I'm not officially throwing my name in the hat

We have a nice strong 2 months to consider a mix in the theme of SUNDAY AFTERNOON. The challenge ends September 30th @ 12AM GMT.

Everyone in that list has the capability of producing a mix by that date. Good luck, everyone! Looking forward to listening!

I'm not trying to rock the boat, but is there any reason for a rigorous sign-up process, or closing off the competition? If planetaryplayer feels like he can get a good mix together next month and sticks to the theme, why not let him join in?

Posted by ziptnf on Jul-23-2016 12:40:

The post has been up for a month now with clear start times and end times. I wouldn't call the signup process "rigorous" either, as it is as simple as saying you will do the mix.

The idea behind keeping a solid timeframe with a set list of participants is to prevent DJ LazyMan from submitting a mix 2 months after everyone has already completed the challenge. That's why it's called a challenge, to produce the mix in the time allotted. Sure I could remove all the rules and let anyone participate, late or never at all, but we already did that in previous challenges and were left with half the people not submitting a mix. I'm making the rules more strict to enforce a higher completion rate.

That said, if planetaryplayer wants to participate, he can. He indeed posted his intentions before sign ups closed. Just PM me or announce it here and I'll add his name to the list.

Seeing that I suggested the theme, I suppose it's appropriate if I kick things off as well:

So you've been out partying on a Saturday and the night went on a bit long. You wake up the next day waaaay past noon. The sun is shining and the weather is beautiful, but understandably you're not feeling a hundred percent.

You take a painkiller and a tall glass of ice cold water, get comfortable on your sofa, put on your headphones and press play. After a while you can feel the headache recede and your energy levels start to rise.
