hahaha what a top night

Ferry was unbelievable, almost as good as Armin a few weeks ago...

Tunes he spun:
Darren Tate vs Jono Grant - Let the Light Shine In (CHOON!!)
Cape Town - Pitstop
Gouryella - Ligaya
Gouryella - Tenshi
Gouryella - Walhalla
System F - Solstice
Veracocha - Carte Blanche
Ferry Corsten - Punk
System F - Needlejuice
Saphirecuts - Free Your Mind
En-Motion - Getting Away With It
Rapid Eye - Circa Forever (Iberia's Main Room Mix)

I thought Tall Paul was a bit "meh" - his style has never really impressed or excited me, so I guess u could say I had no expectations of him and he delivered exactly
Good to hear him spin Push - The Legacy though

Big ups to all the TAs - nick, helen, orpheus (or was it your brother? I still can't tell u guys apart!), Hyperdimension, Jace & Gilmista (good to meet u guys at last)..

Waxology, it was u who was bringing ur dad eh? Does he have a moustache and was wearing a white shirt? Cos this dude was the only old person I remember seeing .. didn't see your Vandit shirt though..

Best moment? I think the auTA lighter-wielding contingent during Ligaya was pretty damn cool (see the trend we started? ) .. also Punk when the whole crowd was screaming the chorus
Tenshi absolutely went off, as well as Ferry "thinking" about what to play for the encore .. then the strings of Carte Blanche hit and the whole crowd almost died

Overall top night, just hope they sell a few less tickets next year (or hold it somewhere bigger than Gas) - it was just waaay to crowded in there most of the time :/

Talking awesome

Ferry was bloody awesome my fav moment was when the whole crowd was sining the chorus to Punk.....i got him to sign my mobile (in silver) and it looks f-ing awesome .. i also got that picture of him in 3d world magazine signed ....his set was awesome

hey webmeister i think it was the Rapid Eye R.E.Mix of Circa-Forever he played not the Iberia mix

it was funny that you could spot the Ta's in the joint when he played ligaya...i knew that all those lighters being held up were from TA's

only bad point was when some chick burnt me with a bloody cigarette bud on the dance floor ...not happy jan ...but it's all good..actually i think it was the chick you were with gilmister

another awesome set i got to listen to .......hey how maNY PPL here got their phone signed...it seemed as if heeps of ppl did ...oh yeah thanks to he dude that lent me the silver pen so my phone could get signed

FERRY CORSTEN @ Gas <------------ one of my all time fav sets

oh yeah Helen i think i saw you ...glasses, blue top, near the dj box ?

Posted by waXology on Nov-02-2002 02:51:

yeah my dad was the really old guy with the moustache hehe! he was uptop most of the night but ventured down for a bit. i didnt have the vandit t-shirt i managed to run into Helen though

Hey Helen sorry we didnt get to chat i was down the front for a bit but the crowd gave me the shits!

webmeister i think saw you but i didnt know if it was you, liek during tall paull were u on the side were all the TA's were but closer to the stairs? i was right there.

I though ferry played an awsome set but the only thing that put a downer on the night was that there were to many people. like i couldnt even dance and people nearly knock ya to the ground to get passed! the crowd was better at godskitchen...

Awsome set though! OH OH how about when tall paul dropped
Warrior - If you want me.... i almost died!

Hey Helen i hope you didnt hurt yourself when you fell off the podium? hehe

still think Paul van dyk @ home is the best of the year!

Posted by jc on Nov-02-2002 03:56:

absolutely unbelievable.. shat on armin if you ask me
that club really needs to increase size though, or just sell less tickets..

tunes of the night for me

[Dynamix]
dariush - ira
energy 52 - cafe del mar (what remix??)

[Tall Paul]
push - the legacy
magic impuls - exposure
warrior - if you want me
yves deruyter - music non stop (push remix)

[Ferry]
All that webmeister said plus
4x4 - indigo
eon - pocket damage
plastic boy - silverbath

and yeh, nice to finally meet some of you

Posted by webmeister on Nov-02-2002 04:13:

wax yeah it probably was me, i was over on the left near the stairs for most of the night .. i saw helen and that dude slip off the podium as well, so u musta been right near me...

come up and say hi next time u fool

Posted by Jah on Nov-02-2002 04:43:

yeah he ended here in perth with silverbath! that was a moment and tall paul played that new warrior song... that was really awsome... and i think a cafe del mar remix but im not sure i dunno it had the same strings as cafe del mar but seemed arranged differantly (the whole track...) but yeah good to hear you guys had a good time! i went nuts to pocket damage over here! looks like he whipped out some classics for you guys! iw ould have killed to hear wallhalla!

Posted by jc on Nov-02-2002 04:55:

I dont even remember walhalla being played or tensi for that matter

Posted by webmeister on Nov-02-2002 05:09:

Yeah he didn't play Walhalla it was something else .. but Tenshi was definitely played .. about 1/2way through I think..

Posted by dj_helen_k on Nov-02-2002 05:29:

re: me falling off the podium
hmm.. hehe,. i got dragged off wen my german friend Andreas went for a tumble *embarrasin*

re: tenshi, most definately... walhalla? perhaps but i dont think i remember it

dynamix: amazing set, he is still my fav oz dj.
the scumfrog remix of Iio's At the end, amazin, beter than rapture imo, not as cheesy, more deeper = me likes - re: the cafe del mar. not sure! but that was intense!

WaXy: hehe.... i didnt meet ur daD! ... shame about some of the ppl tho. * * .... the place was chokz. i was sweating like a pig @ one stage....

JoeCool: nice to meet u. thanks heaps for the crazy urge i had to get up on ur shoulders for "Carte Blanche" *lol* ... heheheh...and webby, soz for breaking ur back!

re: Ligaya...fanastic moment. shame there were only a few 'smokers' there, i swear there musta been more! (it is a smokey fookin club!) ...it look insane from above lookin down @ the crowd. big ups for the TA's and the other peeps wth trance.nu shirt. gotta get pix done ASAP! ) - i got my thumb burt for wavin the ligher around *ouch*

Gilmista: nice ta' finally meet u too .... ..... "waves"

diggs + morro...morro. was nice to meet u outside , handin me a flyer of Soto + Helstrip...! cant wait to check u guys out friday! *hugs* ...

Ferry absolutely loves sydney....hope he tells me it was his fav gig out of the MOS tour .....

hmhmmmmmmmmmm.
im pissed Fezz didnt play the Epic mix of Saphirecut *cries* would have been more effective, even slightyl 'slower' pitched ...

thanks to ALL of u TA's.
its always great to meet and partty with all u guys.....we are all so passionate about the music we love....its amazing! *grouphug*..

i just woke up 10minz ago

hey sounds like you all had a great time!!
i still havent decided if i'll go yet
i suppose im not gonna get any study done in the middle of the night! and i should still be able to get some done tuesday since i got out of work. i guess depends on how my knee feels
but it would be good to go! there should be more room in qbh than in gas hehe

Posted by arkhan on Nov-02-2002 07:17:

sounds like all the sydney people had a good night

and im glad he played veracocha - carte blanche hehe

so is anyone from Melbourne going on monday?

Posted by SQ-K on Nov-02-2002 12:24:

ummm...

HELL YES!!!

can't wait to see Ferry in action. System F - Out of the Blue got me into trance in the biggest way, and I've now been waiting three years to see the great man.

You guys know where I'll be -- front and centre, kids.

Posted by Renegade on Nov-02-2002 14:49:

Yeah should be there, just gotta convince a couple of mates to screw up their exam preparation first though.

Do you reckon there'll still be tickets left on monday arvo?

(Oh, and good to see the sydney gig went well. )

Posted by waXology on Nov-02-2002 15:25:

Posted by jc on Nov-03-2002 02:11:

Posted by narcism on Nov-03-2002 02:57:

now thats one good tracklisting
dunno if im gonna go once agin my friends have better things to do
but i do have a fuckin exam on monday n then one on tuesday.... n 4 some reason they decide to put the harder exams first up

but im seriously considering going down....
u dont get to experience this every week

Posted by SQ-K on Nov-03-2002 04:54:

*SQ-K puts on devil's horns*

Come on, you know you want to...

Ferry's much more fun than exams...

/devil's horns

Now, InAcoma, you do what you feel is right. Exams are important, after all. Methinks I'm gonna hafta get my dose of Corsten magic, and then dash round to Rebirth, assuming that one S. Strangis is playing a morning set.

Posted by Sid on Nov-03-2002 17:27:

Yeah I really wanted to see Ferry also, but exams are way too close and I need at least a week to recover from a big event like they should have him play in like early January when everyone has holidays and change the venue to like Home or something

Posted by Hyperdimension on Nov-04-2002 02:32:

A great night it was!

It was good to meet JoeCool and to meet some of you tranceaddicts again - webmeister, Helen_k, V-Ho... I thought I had met Orpheus, but it was his brother. I found quite a few old friends, and made a few new ones!

Ferry played quite well, one of the highlight was Darren Tate vs jono Grant - Let the light shine in... definitely a hands-in-the-air euphoric experience! Also, the track with the vocals from an enigma track... does anyone know what that track is? Another highlight was when Rapid eye - Circa forever (r.e. remix) was played, I went all crazy and started telling everyone around me the track title & artist. Though it was too short - only a few minutes!

The other DJs didn't appeal to me at all, other than a few occasional nice tracks. I'm not really into tech-house or funky stuff. I like a bit of progressive stuff, especially atmospheric and trancey sounds, but I didn't go for that, I went only for uplifting trance! Tall Paul only played a few tracks that I liked, did he play Riva - Stringer? I think a lot of people would have preferred the whole night to be uplifting trance, that's what Ferry corsten is well-known for (other than Punk), and that's what most people would have gone for. I wish he played his dub of Ayumi Hamasaki - Whatever, that's one of my favourite tracks that he remixed. It wouldv'e been good if they arranged to put on Armin and Ferry together on one night, e.g. the Long Weekend last month.

It was a bit crowded, but I've experienced worse than that so to me it wasn't bad... you can't get any more packed than Decadence on NYE 1998 at Skygarden... tight body-to-body contact... though some people might like that kind of thing!

Absence of lasers was a disappointment. Wherever there's trance, there should be lasers. Coming from a bit of a rave-scene background, lasers were the norm, even in small cheap events. At least Godskitchen had 2, which is not great but it's something. But really, I'd like something like in Transmission or Mystic. Maybe even something like the laser setup at Utopia (hmmm that would be asking too much though. ).

I'll have my photos up soon, send me a Private message and I'll reply with the link when they're ready.

Posted by JoeCool on Nov-04-2002 14:53:

well you know where to send the links to HD
