Radio 1 Essential Mix - which track would you open with?

Curious to hear some set openers, there is a 'sound' I always thought to a radio one essential mix. Some tracks just seem to fit the bill perfectly.

I would personally start with this:

All due respect, that track does not strike me even in the least as an opener. Although it's not a bad track, the outro section reminds me way too much of xpander.

BTW, for the sake of context, what kind of set would you see this being?

digger! church of ra was a nice slab of cheese back in the day... this is a very nice prog track, never heard it before. looks super rare. only see it on this wyze site, is that legit?! i want it.

would be very hard for me not to open with this...

Exactly the sort of thing I was thinking, you get where I am coming from.

Can just imagine Pete Tong talking over the top of that.

Digger have done some great tracks, Recalling 86 is another one worth checking out.

Not sure if you grew up listening to the essential mix on Radio One or not but you would always have Pete Tong talking over the track to introduce who was playing. I just can picture him talking over this track in that same fashion is what I mean.

I would see this as trance but when pitched down you could get away with more deeper, progressive trance of the time (2001).

An example of what I mean with Pete Tong over a great intro track:

this.....

I still John Askew had one of the best intros for an e-mix

John Cage - 4'33

There's no opener better than Pendulum's "We lied" intro, I don't think there's anything anyone can do to top that now, except for:

Would be funny once you knew the tracklist, but dont all radio stations have a failsafe that detects silence over a period and a system kicks in to play a pre recorded show?

I remember PVD played this as in intro at some big event. Massive edit.

It'd depend on the kind of set it would be overall, but it would be hard not to use this.

So Seven Lions, who started as making brostep remixes of Anjuna trance, is now doing world beat? Well I never.

This probably already has been done on some radio show years before, but I certainly wouldn't mind opening with a little psychedelia on a sitar before a bumping prog house bassline takes center stage.
