This is definitely going a little too far. I don't have a problem with warez and I'm pretty sure nobody else here minds it, but it gets really annoying when every second post is requests for some audio programs. The last time I checked this is the "DJ zone" and not "Warez zone". Damn !

It's not about warez.
It's about talent and music producing. If somebody has talent, but maybe not hundreds of bucks to spend on software, why shouldn't he be able to produce anyway, if the possibility exists? There are lots of DJs here, but not many producers. I like producing more than DJing, a song doesn't have to be a part of a set to be good. Talent shouldn't go wasted. As long as there are requests for production software, and not DJ progs, I will do my best to help.

If people shut the f*ck up and stop requesting Reason, It's ok with me. It saves money and time when sharing with other tranceaddicts. This is a very social forum after all. As long as there is sharing and not trading, a warez image of this section shouldn't be considered a bad thing.

We all know everyone under the sun wants reason.. theres been about 90 threads about it. But unless u got a fast mother-****** of a connection i wouldnt reccomend trying to download it (just over a gig)

Look at it this way, Swamper is already providing MP3s which are in a legal gray area - if this board continues having this much warez content it would be an additional reason to shut it down, especially since it is a high-traffic site now. I wouldn't want to risk this.

I agree with you and dissagree too., I do think that requests for warez in the DJ forum is kinda annoying and does congest the thread.. however i personally think that for reason... it is worth it. Reason is a very large/hard-to-get program and for peepz who did not get the opportunity to get it before, this is their chance. I am in the proccess of learning how to produce trance/techno and getting the program will surely cut my costs down for buying any real equipment. Anyhow thats just what I think..

You seem to be missing my point, I don't have a problem with warez and program trading in general, it is just that I don't want to see any of it happening on the message board (or at least in the DJ forum since it seems to be the only forum that still has some kind of interesting topics going on). I hate to see the way people keep asking for programs - if somebody decides to offer it for download they will let everybody know, posting the same request over and over again just annoys the hell out of people. I'm really happy that somebody finally found a place to put up Reason, but I can see this trend continue for other audio programs and even extend to general warez discussion - which I'm pretty sure nobody wants to see. There are sites that handle that kind of stuff and if you're looking for warez you'd be better off there.

There are certain places to discuss warez & such & I don't think the dj forum here is the right place.

& yes it is a pity that a great program like Reason is so expensive, so why don't you try an alternative - Orion?

True.. True.., Warez should be discussed in the chill out room or something.. but i don't totally agree with taking it to the warez forums to ask for it.. a lot of people there won't have a clue what reason or programs like Traktor is :>, anyhow it wasn't a problem to me before if people would ask for a particular program, it just got annoying when people would repeatively ask for the same program over and over again. And if someone offered it for download, I don't mind that at all. Plus at least the programs are "DJ" related and not like games or appz. It gets annoying seeing every third thread a request for REASON or TRAKTOR and would be even worse if it wasn't related to DJ's at all . So I think if someone wants a program, then ask for it in the chill room, or they could bring it up in a DISCUSSION about the program in the DJ Zone, BUT it has to be a "DJ" related program and asking for it in the thread would keep the forum cleaner.

Reason is a real piece of equipment - just cos it's software doesn't make it ok to steal it. I know it's expensive but you can use demo versions to see if you want the full thing.

True, that is true. I have tried the demo version and I know piracy is stealing, I do feel some remorse. But hey, what can you do?..If I really get serious into producing tracks, I'll go buy the REAL equipment, But in the mean time I can learn using the software..

The requests for software are REALLY getting annoying at this point, I think people should stop ASKING in the forums but ask the people who might have the programs or access to them VIA private message or something, Like seriously.. I love warez as much as the next guy, but I really want to read about other things beside requests...So if ya really want that program badly, ask for it in a thread where people are discussing about it.. KEEP The main forum Clean!
