The Joe Rogan Experience

Does anyone here listen to his podcasts. He has really good guests and u can learn so much from him. He has an amazing mind. I just started listening to it and its awesome

i know he had louis theroux and bill burr on, and he mentions howard stern a lot. i am a big fan of all three of them. been meaning to check him out, but his podcasts seem to go on for ages.

Posted by wotyzoid on Nov-23-2016 15:12:

I'm a fan but the man can be very thick and stubborn sometimes.

Posted by Vivid Boy on Nov-23-2016 22:22:

the guy can have good guests but god damn is he misinformed. I love it when he has legit professionals on in health and or any kind of science and he gets put in his place by actual real facts.

I find him obnoxious. Nothing he says is original. All he's doing is making accessible thoughts and ideas that have already been around for years in a way that laypeople people can digest and accept more readily. I mean yeah I suppose that's a good thing, just lol @ "He has an amazing mind." Fuck outta here.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Nov-23-2016 22:40:

he is a good host when there is someone interesting in that he is kinda an idiot regarding anything that isn't fighting related so he tends to ask alot of questions like a child which is not always bad. THe usual podcast people tend to do similar podcasts like tim ferrris, James A. show but he does tend to allow for more um well it depends on the guest.

some interesting guests he has had for good or bad

sam harris
Gad Saad
Sam Harris
Milo dickfaceyanipolwwdc
Greg Proops

Nice to agree with Jenny 100% for a change.

Posted by Looney4Clooney on Nov-23-2016 22:56:

the how isn't really about him tho. He is curious and asks questions and if he manages to get a guest that is interesting, well you tend to get a very long interview which most podcasts don't do.

I guess just look for the interesting guests.

Plus his voice, ugh. He sounds exactly as one would expect when conjuring the image of a guy with small man syndrome.

Yeah I basically hate Joe Rogan lol.

Let this continue as a "reasons to hate Joe Rogan" thread.

i get it
He can be annoying when he has an opinion or his guest is one of those alt right dickheads.

Posted by Gemlerr on Nov-24-2016 07:44:

lol u either love him or hate him i guess. each to his own

Posted by LoveHate on Nov-25-2016 06:04:

I like his guest ...

i go there to learn about diet and health sometimes

anything else nah.

He deserves credit for finding Joey Diaz who is hilarious. I agree that he is quite unoriginal and does repeat the same old rhetoric. Having said that, he usually does have interesting guests which are definitely worth watching (Louis Theroux for example) so I am tempted by the click bait on youtube.

Another thing I noticed with him is I can't seem to help but think that at some point he will make a 180 on a lot of things he currently believes. For example, he admits that he believed the propaganda on pot that it makes you unproductive and brain dead. He claims he never started smoking until he was in his 30's when he found out the propaganda was BS. I heard him saying something similar about socialism and it was basically pro-western propaganda about how lazy people benefit and how the world is going to end when the government will take your pension. I'm literally counting the days until someone educates him and he ends up moving to Venezuela.

Isn't that a good thing? Intelligent people SHOULD question their beliefs.

I would think much less of him if he DIDN'T change his mind about things. That's what growth and learning are all about.

My main question is how the fuck do any of you find time to listen to long podcasts? Let alone several from various different sources.

Time you spend driving or exercising adds up. I sometimes even make time to read your long posts.

I agree with you in principle that yes, it is good that people question their own beliefs and become enlightened once they're exposed to the other half of the equation. My point is that I'd rather listen to someone more knowledgeable on topics brought up for discussion rather than someone who is obviously hasn't seen the every side of the argument. I realize it's a drastic example however, I could easily listen to Chomsky talk for an hour and even if I disagreed with him on something, my criticism would never be that his argument was not fully thought out or created prematurely.

For the record, I think Rogan is a pretty good guy and would do the right thing in most situations he was put in. I think his 180 turns would usually be for the best. He isn't Chritopher Hitchens who went from defending women's rights to defending Bush and Cheney.

Fair. I regret playing Devil's Advocate on his behalf now. Fuckin shitty Joe Rogan, fuck.

Aww sucks. you'll make me blush!

I can't listen to spoken voice when exercising though - has to be 128bpm+ or no action.

it makes you sound like a snobby entitled fuck "wahhh mah songz must s0und fast, lettme get my bpm counter out, oh nope not fast enough"

Posted by Nrg2Nfinit on Nov-30-2016 16:56:

i think he meant winamp 128kbps or higher

Posted by wotyzoid on Nov-30-2016 17:29:

You need a BPM counter to know what 128 sounds like?

Posted by Silky Johnson on Nov-30-2016 17:51:

You don't hear BPMs, brah, you feel them.

Posted by wotyzoid on Nov-30-2016 18:03:
