Can't you be banned during your manic phases?

No can do, sorry. Unless he breaks a rule, being a nuisance isn't a bannable offence.

Everyone has these dramatic, apocalyptic ideas as to what will become of the world when The Machines becomes self-aware, but I think 'interactive spam' like this is a more realistic example of what we can expect.

So you're saying the future is even worse than we imagined

Yes, it will be several, convincing exchanges before they try to sell us Nikes, and by then we'll have already quoted the bots into our own oblivion.

Just add grammar and punctuation rules to the rules.

Haha, that's not a bad idea sometimes

Posted by DJ RANN on Dec-17-2016 21:57:

you calexit, could metaphorically be a disaster for trumpy;

Gove Brown has declared all out war on Turmp and Cali has the ability ot basically be autonomous, given that it's the largest part of the us economy/GDP.

Brown is talking about rampling up energy efficiency and even talking about making it drastically less reliant on oil and gas, and it could end up powering a large portion of the states' energy needs. It would put trump in a really difficult position especially as cali is completely controlled by Dems.

This is going to get really messy....

Posted by Zharen on Dec-19-2016 07:10:

And it could be very difficult for the rest of us who vehemently disagree with the rest of these liberals about breaking off from the union. I'm not a Trump supporter myself, but I'm not trying to be a sandy fucking vagina and say we have to go and do our own thing now because we didn't get our way in the election. Boo fucking hoo. All this is going to accomplish is further dividing people and possibly even breaking up families, from those who still want to be part of the US and those little fucking cry-babies who can't accept the results of the election. I'm sure California could succeed in being completely autonomous, but I have no faith at how the liberals would run things: the whole state would be one giant sanctuary city, environmental and pollution controls would be set at unbearable levels, and jobs would be outsourced everywhere else because we have to help all the third world countries out while our own are tossed out on the streets. I have my doubts a Calexit would actually happen, but if it did, guess the rest of us would have to go move to Oregon or Nevada and leave our neighborhoods and homes behind.

Cali has long talked about doing this...and not years, or even decades ago, but back when it first became a state over a century ago. It wont happen. Its a knee-jerk response.

But it does give us all hope for our grand cyberpunk future...

Cascadia/Pacifica is the saner choice.

What's that tiny enclave south of Seattle?

I think that IS Seattle. And Tacoma. Likely its own City-State, what with having all that tech-industry, Amazon, Microsoft, and Starbucks wealth.

Ah, makes sense. Didn't see the dot representing Seattle, so I assumed Bellingham was the new name or something. It seems the Denver metropolitan area also gets to be a (mega)City-State.

Also, it's a bit weird the rest of Cascadia would just kick Seattle out of the country (and Seattle would lose the opportunity to have so much influence on the rest of the region)... but then, it's their fault for giving the world Grey's Anatomy, so the ban is deserved.

That is the nation-state of Seattle, part of the UCAS....I forget the convoluted backstory that explain why that is, but it makes for Seattle being a great place to have your character and story based, since their is so much going on (kind of like Berlin when it was divided after WW2).

Posted by Sykonee on Dec-20-2016 00:00:

You can tell that map is from a different time, because it assumes the northern States would still want anything to do with Appalachian States like W. Virginia, and Kentukianasyvania.

(edit: much less Southern Ontario)

Oh, that makes a lot more sense than just kicking the poor city out Unless this parallel universe takes into account Grey's Anatomy. I stand by what I said!

Edit: I'm now reading about Shadowrun... Trippy

Edit 2: Three dragons are supposed to take Braslia in 2034. Come on, I'll just have retired by then, can't we postpone this?!

The first edition of Shadowrun was published in 1989

Calexit will never happen, it's just an amusing thing that gets thrown around when someone challenges the most populous and economically powerful state.

If it did somehow happen, it would signal the end if the "United states" , as all the redneck states would secede in a heartbeat (for obvious reasons).

Looks like California is going to play hard ball with the orange clown...

Posted by soulstar606 on Dec-21-2016 01:23:

thank gawd we don't have to deal with the brown clown anymore, that was an 8 year long nightmare. it felt like a really bad dream that would never end

It's too bad we'd have to say goodbye to California and all the awesome Californians we know, just so we can get rid of you. :/

At least he's making threads, it's not like it's turned into a bad thread either.
