Can you practice civil engineering without a degree?

So, I met someone today who told me she was a civil engineer, at some point in our conversation, which was a long one, the subject of multivariable calculus came up; very vaguely i alluded that people in this country could benefit from discrete boolean mathematics instead of newtonian mechanics.

So, she said she hadn't taken Multivariable calculus. I had to take Multivariable Calculus, do civil engineers need a degree to practice engineering? I mean, i know it's different for civil engineering than other but i thought all engineers had to know multivariable?

i don't think multivariable is a req for engineers, so she is probably not bullshitting me so she's good. You can't believe the shit people make up these days.

I've suspended him in the past for genuine reasons (such as posting a Brazilian Nazi flag), but these are the opportunities I have to wait for. Um sorry, but his posts contribute NOTHING relevant here. As I said, even spam bots post more relevant shit. He literally does not contribute in a meaningful way. His posts ARE spam, so why can't he be treated like the other spambots???

All right, I guess you both have a point, so let me have a think. I'll sleep on it and see if I can change my stance. I just want to make sure I have a good point to fall back on to justify a possible suspension

Like seriously read his post. The guy is basically having a conversation with him-bloody-self. It's obvious he doesn't even care to truly engage with posters here. For the inane self absorbed internal dialogue crap he posts, he can buy a goddamn journal.

Don't ban him Lira. Maybe I'm being selfish because I enjoy an occasional laugh at his expense, maybe I'm being a hypocrite since I have him on ignore but if you give in to peer pressure you'll be only hurting yourself and your ideals of freedom and democracy. fuck you're a mincing faggot! the private sector can do whatever it wants re censorship. freedom of speech is a constraint on government only. there is no slippery slope, because we're talking about a site of about 2 dozen people at this point. so, 24 notches of "slip". won't be any worse with 23, indeed we all agree it would be better.
