software instrument for glassy pad sounds

any suggestions peeps?

Gotta be Omnisphere or Zebra, depending on the exact flava of glassy. Even FM8 could do it as it's often FM'y

Sadly not, all the old Roland digital stuff is PCM based and therefore liable to copyright. Roland are now recreating some of it in the Roland Cloud, but that's a really shitty subscription service.

If you want something similar, the Korg M1 plugin might work. It's fiddy bucks.

Omnisphere gets my vote, along with Air Instruments Loom, Rob Papen Blue, and Alchemy (now for Logic only, though).

Glassy pads... definitely another vote for Omnisphere here

I don't know if it's 'glassy' enough, lulz, but I recently got round to exploring Cubase's Padshop rompler thingy and it's remarkably decent.

Here is a link to a newer version called Padshop Pro which can import samples. 64

The Audio Demo button over on the right hand side of this link is worth checking (the second one down) - a few glassy's in there

Shame on you for calling that splendid granular synth a 'rompler'.

SHAME!

SHAME!

I have the non Pro version and though I love it's sound I don't find it has much in the way of editing facility - I guessed it would be classed a Rompler, no?

I love a mental shortcut, lol

It has envelopes, filters, mod matrix, FX, LFO's and multiple grain parameters in the main information window. It's definitely not a rompler!

Nexus, now there's a rompler.
