Small drum pad midi device?

anyone know of something out there for just drumming in some beats in midi? Im considering Push 2 but its quite expensive, maybe should I just get it as I use Live so it would probably integrate well

but are there any other alternatives, something with really nice pads? The Push pads are supposed to be one of the best out there

What about Push 1 for now?

I would imagine they're almost giving them away by now.

had planned to get a Tanzmaus so might get that and see how it goes

I kinda find the push 2 expensive for what it is. $800 gets you a decent laptop these days.

Have you thought about something cheap like the Akai MPD 218? It's seriously basic but the pads are great.

or if you want to go even cheaper then there's the Akai LPD8

It depends how you define expensive. There's a guy on Youtube who pulled it apart and it's a seriously well built bit of kit. I actually applaud Ableton for not pandering to the plastic fantastic. When you feel them, they feel goooooood. Solid, heavy.

Looking for same thing, I think i'm just going to get a Push 1 for the easy Ableton integration. They are going for ~250 euros around here.

The Korg nanoPAD, $60 USD

There's also the Kord padKONTROL, which has a lot more features. Its no longer made so finding that might be more difficult.

I would imagine with the current line up covering many bases they might start making (sigh) more modular stuff.
