Talking Meltdown 4: Dallas

Man what an awesome night. This party took place on the 2 of Nov. Started off pretty weak but thas because the djs were weak. Neway discovered this new dj who will soon be somehting big, Jeremy Dawson. Man this guy took basically a bored rowd and turned it up. He spins tek/trance style thats out of this world. Then on to another first performance for me Mr. Scott Bond. This man is unbeilevable. He was good from start to finish i was goin nuts for a hour ad a half, he played all my favorites even atlanta 020202. Then YET ANOTHER first performance for me with Dave Aude. This guy played house that made me want to listen to it again. Not that crappy diva shit that BBB spins this was great house music with awesome buildups. Finally the event of the night the my live set with none other than Paul Van Dyk. OMG he was everything i expected and more. Then for his encore song he played I FEEL YOU because we held up a sign asking him t do so. It was an awesome evening big ups to Jeremy Dawson who not only dj'ed the event but help make it happen. This was the best party i was ever apart of.

Hell of a night.

From Scott, to Aude, to PVD, endless. When PVD threw on arctic, man, that was it. The sound system, the lineup, excellent. Worth the rainy drive, all I got to say.

Worth it.

Man i knoe i was right in the front to the right i was the black guy with the blue t shirt and i was holding up the i feel you sign me and my friend begged PvD to play it all night man i lost my mind man completely. I mean imagine PvD playing the song u pick for the encore OMG like u said hell of a night.

wow what a set by pvd!! he's so smoooth. great mixing and track selection! very energetic. best set i've ever witnessed!!

he started the set off with taub 2002 and followed with some hard tunes.. then all a sudden he dropped pvd - 'nothing but you' (or is it artic???)!!!!!

other highlights: the place went nuts when he played underworld - born slippy (pvd remix) everyone was singing along!!!!!!!!!! i loved when he played Nitromethane-' Time to Die' (Seraque Remix)!! he also played his remix of solid sleep!! and then of course the set ended with 'for an angel' . . he played marco v's - feeling u (pvd remix) as his encore! good job requesting that vanfecto! tons of great tunes but i didnt know em!

very cool of him to stay there and sign autographs for everyone.. anyways, they wouldnt let me bring my camera in.. anybody get to sneek one in? post PICS!!!!!!

what a night...

P-V-D!!!! wow man...i cant believe i finally got to hear this man live. My dream come true. I was at the very front directly in front of him with my good friend VaNFeCto...holy shit ... amazing... as always... solid, seamless mixing by the greatest dj...
i held up my ARCTIC sign when he dropped it and he saw it and smiled! and then at the end after For An Angel.... we held up I FEEEEEL YOU... and after the crowd cheered his name over and over... he dropped his encore track... and it was, of course... Marco V - I Feel You (PvD Mix).... !!!!!!! we made him play it!!! WahOOO!!!!! it felt so great when i heard it come on..... damn what a night.

a quick tracklist off the top of my mind in random order (missing many many tracks i heard for the first time)

Viframa - Cristalle (Katana & Dj Precision Remix)
Katoi - Touch You (Ralphie B Mix)
Paul Van Dyk - Artic/Nothing But You
Solid Sleep - Club Attack (PvD Remix)
Bass Tarts - Summer In Space
Nitromethane - Time To Die (Seraque Remix)
Blank & Jones - Watching The Waves
Klea - Tic Toc (Magik Muzik Mix)(PvD Re-work)
Reeloop - Fucking Society (PvD Re-work)
Three Drives - Carrera 2 (PvD Remix) ?
Underworld - Born Slippy (PvD Re-work)
Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel
encore: MARCO V - I FEEL YOU(PVD MIX)!!!!! thanks to us! hehe!

i wanted GUIDE ME GOD!!!! DAMNIT ! I HAD THE SIGN BUT I DIDNT RAISE IT UP!!!! WHY??? IM SO STUPID!!
he played a somewhat harder set then the stuff i usually hear from his livesets... but i guess he plays differently for America... amazing set nonetheless... but damn i wanted to hear som more stuff i know... or maybe its just i wanted to hear certain songs live...

ya what a show!!! definitly one of the best ones if not the best i've been to in texas. the venue was awsome, huge huge dancefloor and a statdium like seating arrangment farther away from the stage (cool ass sight from there). the fixtures were nice - they had a nice glowing cloth pyrmamid thing and a cool human statue made up from the gridding used to prop the lights, had a cool glow to it too. they had tons of those expenisve 360 degree turning lighting so it added a great atmosphere. the DJ's were awsome. Jeremy Dawson was good as said here although i didnt like the first half of his set... when he got to the more trancey stuff it was AWSOME, finally some stuff to get emotions up and the crowd moving. Scott Bond was superb although one of the turntables was giving him problems, power and sounds quality wise. Dave Aude was good on some of the tracks... most the house songs lacked something for me, but then agian i am more of an olav basoski fan anyways. then PvD, OMG this guy was out of this world. way better then the set he did one year ago in houston. his mixing was flawless and song selection was phenominal, though a bit 'hard'. and i too almost pissed my pants when he played Artic/Nothing But You, that song has some serious ownage power. i felt so privaleged by the end cause he played, born slipper, for an angel, his remix of carrera 2 (which i had never heard before) and then he gave an encore, that in itself is awsome cause i've heard paul does it only to 'deserving' crowds. anyways awsome night. i would like to see many more events like these happen here in texas!

I was definitely satisfied with the arena/location as well. It was pretty well ventilated, parking was decent (found ourselves a good spot) and fortunately with the cold weather, that big ass "garage" door that was opened kept us all cool. Plus they had some small fans goin towards the crowd, and you can't argue having the stands in the back to sit down. Definitely a good night. Honestly, considering it wasn't held at a club, it was pretty well done. I was afraid the normal texas "party" attitude would rub off on it, and that we'd have 20 million kids running around throwin drugs, people overdosing, and shit gettin all fucked up. But I was impressed. Everyone pretty much knew what was going on, who was spinning, what vinyl was being dropped. Something you don't see at your average party.

One track I wanted to hear was mmdc - no more rain (sommer safari), but its alright. Hearing arctic/nothing but you live was good enough.

I definitely want to see some pics. Vanfecto, put em up!

The Venue!

Yeah man i thought that the venue was awesome, especially with the infared lasers when scott was playing i thought that was awesome. Then the way the had the lights expanding everywhere all through out the crowd. Thought parking was good we got out in about 15 mins or so. Man though the tune that i wish scott wouldve dropped was meltdown! Man i wouldve gone nuts if i heard that.

DAMN I NEED THIS LIVESET! WAS IT RIPPED? IF YES, WHAT IS THE FILENAME & WHERE CAN I GET IT?

Posted by digitalbreach on Nov-05-2002 00:35:

overall party was freaking awesome: Venue was really nice, parking was good, and lighting was electrifying. loved the lighting
Aude had a good set. As did Scott Bond. PVD pretty much blew my mind. HE just got off. 1st time seeing him. I couldn't believe he spun Marco V- I feel you for his encore. I really couldn't believe they didn't have the decency to turn the lights off. I still can't believe PVD teased me by not spinning the whole track beggers can't be choosers. lol

good job with the trainspottin!

Posted by VaNFeCto on Nov-05-2002 06:43:

Yeah PLEEEEZE post some pics man! I was standing right next to you guys, I was the one w/ the Trance.nu shirt on I took lots of pics too w/ my disposable but they didn't turn out for shit! I was so let down when I got mine back lol Hopefully yours turn out good man...I have yet to see anyones yet. And I saw people w/ digital cams too! Where the fuck are these people?!?!?!

Scott Bond, amazing set by him. Pretty consistent in his track selection, it flowed really nice. I and everyone else was really enjoying the end of his set. The track that I think was before Atlanta 020202 was insane! I wish I new what it was, it kept building and building......and building haha

About PVD, that was the 4th time I've seen him and that the most insane set I've ever seen or probably ever will see. I'm still getting chills just thinking about it. I am officially addicted to PVD. Absolutely amazed!!

Great party, I always have the best time in Texas
