And holy shit, it fucking ownz my computer
i get like 3 fps...at the most.
I can fry* eggs on my video card right about now :/

anyone else get it, and actually be able to play it?

yupz, it'll definitely be a quality game when it's released in 2k3.

even on my gf4 card, i wasn't able to put my settings to the maximum. that's how graphically heavy this game is. but it's worth it.

i've heard reports that the radeon 9700 can run the game very smoothly with every top or very closely to the top.

the full game will be much faster. An alpha is only the build of the engine... theres still a LOT to tweak with it.

ok let's make some things clear....the game is graphicsheavy indeed but when they release the full game you will get a higher fps and it will run more stable.....why?

simply because the 3d engine isn't even finished....leaks and stuff and the lighting is'n tweaked at all....

in fact the quake3 alpha had the exact same issuses....people were running it on their 500 mhz comps and got like 30-40 fps....and now you can easily tweak it to run att 140 fps on a 500

so don't be to worried that it won't run on your comp when it's released......afdter all it's just an Alpha

It is the version of Doom 3 shown at E3 in June of this year, leaked by an employee of ATI.

you'll get about 15 fps in the alpha.
sometimes even 5. aha

exactly...don't let a measly alpha ruin the final product of the game for you. There's a year left before the games release, if not more...so the code of the engine, the gameplay, etc etc etc, will all be modified/perfected
