University club committees

So I got elected president of a university club committee... and there's been a lot of drama recently... and I'm currently in the process of compiling a list of all the complaints against one of the committee members and after only asking 5 people it's already gotten to 6 pages.
Has anyone been on a university club committee before? What were your experiences like?

The complaints are against you, aren't they?

Nah they're not. Although as part of this I had to read an originally private group chat that discussed in detail election candidates so I know what people think the pros and cons of me are. Apparently I'm quiet and shy (according to some people) although calm and rational and have good social skills.

p.s. can we refrain from personal attacks please... like that comment is fine but I know it can get a lot worse on here

As a student, I used to find club committees just awful, because it seemed to attract either drama prone people who are out to fix everyone but themselves or just people who lack a sense of academic purpose and get into politics instead.

When I was in grad school, however, some libertarians were voted in and they did such an awesome job dodging the drama and actually changing the university for the better. So, yeah, it can be great, but I realise this is the exception rather than the rule.

This doesn't make sense.

From only the few details you've revealed you seem very defensive and butt hurt. While it's true these groups are seldom without drama, I don't buy this isn't a problem with you.

Sounds like you're lacking in confidence, leadership and communication skills. People sensing this weakness are not respecting your authority .

You'll undoubtedly view this as an attack even though it's just an honest assessment. You'd be better off stepping down.
