'Not a joke'
Subject: FW: Important News!
FYI, you can never be to careful.....
An article by Dr. Beverly Clark, in the Journal of the United Medical
Association (JUMA), the mystery behind a recent spate of deaths has been solved. If you haven't already heard about it in the news, here is what happened. Three women in North Florida, turned up at hospitals over a 5-day period, all with the same symptoms. Fever, chills, and vomiting, followed by muscular collapse, paralysis, and finally, death. There were no outward signs of trauma. Autopsy results showed toxicity in the blood. These women did not know each other, and seemed to have nothing in common. It was discovered, however, that they had all visited the same restaurant (Olive Garden)within days of their deaths. The health department descended on the restaurant, shutting it down. The food, water, and air conditioning were all inspected and tested, to no avail. The big break came when a waitress at the restaurant was rushed to the hospital with similar symptoms. She told doctors that she had been on vacation, and had only went to the restaurant to pick up her check. She did not eat or
drink while she was there, but had used the restroom.
That is when one toxicologist, remembering an article he had read,
drove out to the restaurant, went into the restroom, and lifted the toilet seat. Under the seat, out of normal view, was a small spider. The spider was captured and brought back to the lab, where it was determined to be the Two-Striped Telamonia (Telamonia dimidiata) , so named because of its reddened flesh color. This spider's venom is extremely toxic, but can take several days to take effect. They live in cold, dark, damp, climates, and toilet rims provide just the right atmosphere. Several days later a lawyer from Jacksonville showed up at a hospital emergency room. Before his death, he told the doctor, that he had been away on business, had taken a flight from Indonesia, changing planes in Singapore, before returning home. He did not visit(Olive Garden), while there. He did, as did all of the other victims, have what was determined to be a puncture wound, on his right buttock. Investigators discovered that the flight he was on had originated in India. The Civilian Aeronautics Board (CAB) ordered an immediate inspection of the toilets of all flights from India, and discovered the Two-Striped Telamonia (Telamonia dimidiata) spider's nests on 4 different planes!
It is now believed that these spiders can be anywhere in the country.
So please, before you use a public toilet, lift the seat to check for
spiders. It can save your life! And please pass this on to everyone you care about.
I'd have deleted it after reading "not a joke"
do a search for that particular spider on google, and if theres any other articles
I doubt it's true. Simply because of the fact that the purpose of venom is that it does take effect right away, not days later so the spider has a meal. And I also find it hard to believe that in the time that the women were dying absolutely no one lifted the seat.
It's just another Halloween story
well thanx, now I never dare to take a shit anymore.. I'm enough afraid of spiders already, and this didn't make it any better..
yea im gonna do a search and see what i can find. i know that the brown recluse spider's bite takes time to affect you. it starts out as a little bite and then the skin around it just slowly deteriorates and you get really sick. so it might be true.

hahah yes that definitely clears things up....although i will still be scared when i go in a public place from now on!
heh thats still some pretty freaky crap if all you wanted to do was relieve yourself and you end up dieing from it.
i was pretty skeptical when i came across 'journal of united medical association'. close but not the same as JAMA Journal of American Medical Association. I was skeptical and unfamiliar with the 'united' medical association so i looked it up. heres what i came up with: http://www.arachnophiliac.com/burro...nake_spoofs.htm
Here's another good place to check

What a load of crap
The "Civil Aeronautics Board" doesn't exist anymore.
And the moral of the story?
Don't take a shit in public places!
Seriously though, I have this thing about sitting on a toilet in a public place. I'll only do a number 1 in public, all number 2's are reserved for the comfort of home, with a magazine in hand(Maxim of course). I feel sorry for the women though, they have no choice... or do they...

hahahah you guys are funny.... i would never put my ass on a public toilet seat either. that is like one of the golden rules of life....
hey slylee, keep in touch girl
PM me once in a while. An thing about the spider sucks. Hope we dont get it in the UK. But in the UK the spider would prob die becasue all the bogs here are scruffy becasue az sits on em with his pimpley ass.
