Anyone read the new issue of mixer mag with BT? If not read this!!!

It took balls for someone to say this, but the truth finally came out!!

Q: You wrote music for Britney Spears, too. How was it working with her?

BT: It was great, man... People have a perception of things that's dictated by the media, and there's an incredible--and an understandable--stigma with people like Britney, JC and Justin. But I can say without any reluctance whatsoever that the three of them are technically better singers than anyone I've ever worked with.

Q: That's quite a compliment.

BT: It was a great lesson in separating what you're told from the reality of a situation. Like, I look at this incredible affection and respect that people have for Paul Oakenfold, and he has not participated in a single piece of music that he's put his name on.

Q: Whoa...

BT: And that's the truth.

Q: You're stating this as a fact?

BT: Dude, I've been there. Call Andy Grey or Steve Osborne if you wanna know who Paul Oakenfold is. Paul Oakenfold is a fuckin' hand puppet. He's a good businessman but he is not a creator of music. Half the time when he's DJing, he's just playing CDs so he can do the Jesus Christ pose. It's an embarrassment. You have people that are considered overly commercialized that are such incredible talents, and then you've got some douchebag like Oakenfold taking the credit for other people's work. I just wish people would investigate things on their own merit.

not too sure about that, tiesto has been doing the exact same thing (expect he actually mixes at events) in getting other peopel to do his remixes.

I'm sure that BT and Tijs are pals. They even toured the US together about a couple of years ago and remember seeing the both of them hanging out together around the club (b/c most people in NYC couldn't recognize them back then).

And fine, flame Tiesto all you want, but Tiesto has actually done decent tracks by himself in the past (unlike Oakey). Has Oakey done anything as good as Urban Train? Not even anything with the quality of the Stray Dog songs that Tiesto did a looong ass time ago.

Dumonde Trancer, I asked Tiesto a couple of weeks ago about why he puts his name on those songs and he told me that it was for a comission for money, but he doesn't even bother spinning these in his sets b/c they are too 'poppy'.

He told me he did the Southern Sun remix by himself mainly in a laptop, as well as the Gatex remix (haha, yeah, i know, big deal). But whatever, the man is better and more talented than Oakey in every way so i don't give a shit.

Most people would say BT definitly is a better producer than Oakenfold. You cant expect less since he went to music tech school for a couple of years and so on.

I saw BT before playing a set and all in all everyone was sitting. No-1 was up dancing, maybe a 12 % of the people there im saying.

Also most people will say Oakenfold is a better dj all around.

Yeah, everyone does know that. Yet somehow he gets rated in "Top DJ" polls all the time, it's pretty funny. BT is pure genious, from all accounts I've heard he's the fucking coolest guy too. I went to one of his shows and it was a ton of fun.

I'm waiting and waiting for #4 to come out.

Oakenfold doesn't have as much talent in his whole body as BT has in the finger he turns his korg on with

What does that have to do with anything? Believe it or not, Britney has a better voice than most trance singers out there (which are shit). And Britney has gotten some badass producers lately. How about THE NEPTUNES 'nuff said!

ok well i heard a paul oakenfold remix of an 'incubus' song, they are an alternative rock group, on the radio the other day. it was on the alternative rock station. he didnt do anything to the song just added a bass kick to it. whoopie di doo i could fucking do that with fruityloops. wanna give me a couple grand to remix it?
