Tactical @ Sonar, 11/5

Hey guys,

I'm spinning at Tactical at Sonar tomorrow night from 10:30 - 11:30ish, I'll be dropping a lot of hard-edged prog and some Sasha style deep trance. Come down and I'll buy you a drink =)

Sweet, I'll do my best to get there.

Sweet Action, I'll be playing some awesome awesome tunes tonight. I did a re-edit of the radio rip of Gabriel & Dresden - Lament to get rid of Digweed's voice overtop of it, so I'm going to be dropping that at the club, heee heee. I love playing tracks that only like 3 people in the world have =P

Good luck Sean (although I know you'll do fine),,, sorry but I won't be able to make it =P

What a gong show, fuck =P Remind me never to bring my alcoholic roommates with me anywhere I'm DJ'ing, hahahaha.

Jesten, thanks for coming down man I appreciate it. Sorry for the last few mixes, I was fighting with the CD-players and they kicked my ass

Danny, at Viva on Friday I'm not allowed to drink, not even one. Make sure of it =)

It was priceless watching you try to figure out that thing. Good times. I will have to come down to Viva and watch you spin sober.

I'm pretty good friends with Julian, one of the resident DJs there, and he hooked me up with it. Unfortunately, they'll be closing down for the winter, I think the Christopher Lawrence show will be their last one.

Posted by patticus on Nov-07-2002 19:53:

so sonar is closing for winter? or the trance night..
dang i thought they only had progressive..

how was the night? busy? responsive?

Posted by Sean Walsh on Nov-08-2002 01:06:

Just their prog night on Tuesday, Sonar itself isn't closing. The night was pretty dead, about 40 people, of which 20 were my alcoholic friends =P The people there were having a good time though so that's all that matters.

I played a prog set btw, not a trance one. Started off housier and moved trancier as I went along.

is sonar 18+ or whatever the age thingy is?

Posted by jesten on Nov-08-2002 19:05:

Hey Sean, I thought the night was pretty decent. Everybody was themselves getting hammered. I have seen clubs emptier during the week so I thought it was ok. And I love watching drunk DJs spin.

Mike, the legal age in BC is 19. How long have you been here for?

Posted by Sean Walsh on Nov-08-2002 19:24:

As long as you enjoyed yourself =)

Heheh, tonight the mixing will be a tad crisper =)

well, I'm underage, so I have never even bothered to check, but now that I know about it (trance nights), I kinda got more interested.

Sean, thanks alot for coming out. I liked your set and your CD. I'm just glad we had you down before the night went into hibernation.

It will actually be good to have the winter off, mostly to see where things go in this city.. people just aren't in a very going out mood right now, and prog sure hasn't caught on the way anyone would have predicted a year ago

Posted by Sean Walsh on Nov-18-2002 06:06:

I'd be happy to be back anytime after the hibernation, I had a lot of fun although I was definitely TOO drunk =P Anyways, all of the elements are there for the night, and it really is just a matter of time before it catches on fully, I'll be glad to help promote when you guys re-open. When is that, btw? Spring?
