Only in New York

So, I saw PVD outside the club when I left. I ran up to him and shook his hand and said "Thank you". Nothing else could have come out of my mouth. This night was probably the best party I have ever attended. The display of music by PVD was unexplainable. What he did to that sound system was like nothing I have heard on a Phazon. They raised $13,000 for the families of 9/11. THe image of this night has not left my mind since. 1,300 PVD fanatics, I would say about 75% sober going absolutely nuts for four and a half hours straight. At one point I felt like I was two feet tall b/c everyone was up in the air. I feel like I have been a part of history in the club world. A charity event which brought more energy that Roxy, SF, and Exit combined!!! That is what it's all about. I would like to see any other DJ come and play on a Monday and bring what PVD brought. I was the first one there and the last to leave. PVD is loved in this city and we should all be proud and take pride in that love. He gives us back the appreciation we give to him. His music is like I have never heard. The amount of unknown track throughout the set was uncountable. It was like he kept a box of new records just for this night. He dropped everything under the sun and the crowd begged for more. His attitude, composure and professionalism makes him, in my eyes and I am sure many others, the best in the world NO MATTER WHAT! DJ mag and its readers should have been there last night to experience the most amazing musical display I have ever had. Hats off the Mike Bindra and the whole crew who put this together. Paul Van Dyk is the Elvis of my world!! Counting down the days until we do it all over again....hopefully sooner than later.

Well said man... PvD is such a class act. Did he really need to come back Monday night after destroying everyone Friday? No. But he did it because he loves the music and nyc. Top onto that it was for charity for 9/11... him doing that was probably the most positive thing to come out of the NY scene (in the eyes of local officials at least) in some time, which is exactly what nyc need. He is taking it upon himself to do good things for nyc and it's not even his home. Not to mention how modest he is for everything he does for dance music, you can just tell in his composure... I love that funny wave he does at the end of every set

How can a man whos so amazing be so humble? I didn't think anything could top what he did on Friday... but his set at arc did. Pure energy, magical journey ..... Whatever you want to call it was a night that will be etched into my mind FOREVER

Paul started things up with an hour of pure classics. Then slowed it down for and hour with some slower progressive. Then around 12 I didnt know what half of the tracks were. I cant believe people think this guys shy. He was jumping dancing waving his arms pumping his fist spinning and everything else you could think up. He grabbed Bindra and hugged him a ton of times. I totally vibed of this PVD/ arc crowd all night. He seemed to have a way better time on Monday (when he wasn't making a cent), then Friday. Toward then end he really cranked it up , Y.O.U, Gatex, Take me higher, Animation, some Nu-NRG.
2 am Bindra thanks us for coming out to support this cause. Then Paul keeps going. Like my friend said before most of the clubbers there(including myself) were on nothing. We went purely off the music. Paul plays some hard track and keeps the party going.. Seeing how hard he could push us. After that hes getting ready to leave(teasing) he looks into our eyes and holds his finger up AHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!(1 more) It was some new unreleased prog trance track. Just right for the moment.

Im so happy that last night I got to chill you guys more ... Arnold, Matt, Alex, Sot, Brain, Tae, Melissa(you owned the back speaker), Koki, Jim, Ian , Twilochick, Daph, stringfelowhawk, Dj Lord (Jon), Legend+ girlfriend, Tom, Gregor, Dennis,Ronny, and my good friend Art. I cant wait till we can do this again

The energy of the crowd last night says it all. That crowd (present company included) would not leave, we shook the floor of ARC and the sound system was pumping deepr than I have ever heard a Phazon in my experience (which is a lot). Now is the time to realize the place of electronic music in this country (and the world). Now is also the time to realize that Paul Van Dyk is the best thing to happen t electronic music. The level of respect he has for the art, for the culture goes above and beyond what anyone expects. His "gift" to the families who suffered loss should be made known to all through local media and news. This event is something which turns tides...changes an attitude and opinions...not to mention he played out of his mind last night and made it known that he is the best in the world in his music category and maybe in electronic music as a whole. His spirit is overflowing and it was felt by everyone present at ARC last night. Once again...my hats off to him always

i hope what he did last night gets to the politicians - in addition to the fact that the best club night in NYC this year was mostly drug free.

i mean, it is no simple thing to do a charity event and raise $13,000 in 4 hours on 2 days notice. and everyone was glad to do it. i would have paid another $40 for that. really.

for people in politics it does not.

I did notice that bout him...this was only second time i ever seen him play live...and unlike the Roxy nite where I could barely see him...on Mon u could tell he was really enjoin himself and I saw him puke, prob from all the xcitment. But i have to agree w the replies above the thing I loove bout Paul s that he's soooo humble....a guy of his magnitude can easily let all the bs go to his head n start acting like he's god or smth...It's not easy to do that seeing how most celbs act. So it makes me ahppy to now that there's someone out there that still managed to stay a good human being, even w/allthe temptation n corruption that his status offers. Thumbs up for Paul( and toes) Hopefully after that nite Made will host more trance acts in the future( at arc that is)

ps- did anyone go to that DJ Ornandel gig while ago at Rxy? it was w/Sandra Collins...

politicians dont give a shit. they will shut down anythign that is looked upon negatively to the voting public. I definatly think we should write a letter and attach a petition with thousands of signatures on it and shove it up Sen. Joseph Biden's ass/
