What's this club like?
I'm comming over from Holland for New Year's eve and want to visit this club, so who can tell me what it's like?

world is quite possibly the WORST club in NYC (i mean, i think i like it less than exit). it has no vibe and it is full of tourists (no offense). it is pretty nice looking and has decent sound but the crowd is just horrible.

if you want a recommendation on a good club to go to i'm sure we can give you lots of ideas on this board.

ok - well i am a firm believer that if you want to have a good time somewhere than you will. but you should at least check out some other places while you are here.

maybe I will, but I'm only there for 5 days, and there are not gonna be very good dj's in the weekend before New Years eve..so I think it's just gonna be "the World" does this club has a website? and how much do you think the tickets will be?

Um, what exactly do you consider a *good* dj?? That week is packed with some sick parties:
Dec 25 - Danny Howells *drool*
Dec 27 - Ferry Corsten
Dec 28 - Marco V
Dec 30 - Tronic Treatment (no details yet)

World cover is probably $20- $25. what event is going on there?

DH doesn't spin that much tribal - he spins 10 hr sets in NY. last week we heard a lot of tech-house, some techno, Drun n Bass!! and a little tribal. he keeps it varied for us.

I�m not even answering that question. Sorry we all care about u to much to let you go to that shit hole that charges 30 + for 2 quality hours of partying.. Actually I think the club part closed, there hasn�t been a promo for it in like 8 months. Good riddens. Tell us what type of electronic you like and we would be glad to direct you to a quality club ..Considering you�re coming from Holland (Trance HEVEN) Go see Marco V at arc. He played some hard stuff at glow but also pushed some uplifting trance. It will be his first time in Ny on the world famous Twilo Phazon system (Best system in NY) so you can expect this to be an amazing night ... but not better then last night WOOOOOOOOO PVD @ Arc 1-4-02

eeew, not world!

i saw tiesto there oct 2001 and it was horrid. horrid sound too. i was standing FAR from the speaker, and i injured my right ear drum. has never been the same.

grrrrr....world....

it is in times square, which is part of the problem. the owner of world is the same as the owner of exit. yes oakey is at exit nye - and i don't think you could pay me to go to that party. seeing oakie in nyc is a nightmare.

i think it is a fairly large space but there are a lot of bars so there isn't a lot of room for ppl and the dance floor is tiny.

i don't like times square - it is too fake. i don't really care for midtown in general but that is mostly cause all the parties i go to are downtown. i can't really support my opinion though so you'll have to check out midtown for yourself and see if you like it.

I saw Tiesto at World and never went back since. The dancefloor is really small. Mabye half the size of a gym floor. The whole place is surrounded by numerous giant bars. The bar and drinking space is probably bigger than the dance area. It's really bright in there and the lightshow sucks. Probably average sound because the space is small.

World is still open because I have lots of friends that go there for rock shows. Mabye a good rock club but definetly one of the worst clubs in NYC to see a good DJ.
