Verachoca - Carte Blanche

Hmm...I can't believe this tune is getting very popular a long tima after it's first release.

I mean I bought a second hand copy off someone, who bought it like in 1998, during that time hardly any DJ's spun it in their livesets, and then I never heard of it anymore anywhere....

Here we are 2002 and it seems that the song finally getting the popularity it really deserves (thanks to ferry, piet blank, and piet bervoets).

It is a really uplifting, anthemic trance tune, one of the best ever...

i havent been into trance for that long a time, so can't say i'm aware of it's popularity during its first release. i truly wish i was though, but better late than never. anyhow, upon first hearing with my little knowledge, i felt it a definite class track, hence the reason why a copy of it on 12" sits on my shelf today.

Thumbs up

if i had to pick one tune, this would have to be my favourite trance track of all time

Yes, as well armin playing Push - Strange World 2000 remake while he was over here. Maybe its retro month for the trance scene.

Yea fuck oath, this is a CHOOON of gigantic proportions!!! I remember when i first heard it back in 99. Cant remember what CD, but i was liein on the beach at Pambula - this little town in southern NSW - just chillin, discman on full boar then the breakdown comes in, WOOOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!! One of the phattest times i've had goosebumps when listening to music, soooo damn fine

Sets are goin retro for sure, maybe cos 1998/1999 were the most mindblowing years in trance!!!!!!.. Although 2002 has been pretty sweet

Posted by zayd on Nov-06-2002 09:07:

yeah its weird how back when it was released it was never got the respect it should have imo, its a great track and well as long as its being played now, who cares go skitz on it now aye

Love Poundin' Sensation

I'm glad that Carte Blanche is getting the recognition it deserves. I think it would probably have to be my favourite tune of all time (amongst many others ). I only discovered this masterpiece this year...and the first time I heard it I immediately fell in love with it! It's so euphoric and uplifting! definitely a tune to go psycho to. I can't believe I didn't discover this beauty earlier...

hehe, I like the idea of retro month

oh man that CD rules .. first trance CD I ever bought and one of the only two I still listen to (other is Trance nation 3 mixed by ferry) .. tracks like Blockster - Grooveline, Saltwater, Cream, Gouryella, Aurora - Hear You Calling, The Orange Theme, and of course the incomparable Veracocha - Carte Blanche .. definitely one of the top 5 trancers ever...

I seem to remember a poll on the TA main forums about a year ago where the top 100 trance tracks were ranked. I don't remember the order, but I'm pretty sure the top 5 were For An Angel, Airwave, Out of the Blue, Urban Train, and Carte Blanche

this track defiantely deserves it's own thread

The track has always got plenty of play by ferry... seeing he made it, along with Vincent De Moor

Loved it since I first heard it and still love it to this date

though I don't know if I like it better than Vimana - We Came

Posted by radicool on Nov-06-2002 14:41:

Here's one for you Bedrock....I really like Bedrock's new tune Emerald and I think it's a masterpiece of progressive tunes (im dead serious). I like heaven scent as well....but the other progressive tunes are like....BORINGGGGG...

Come on TA's...get on my side and let's declare a war againts Bedrock...

Posted by JayKuE on Nov-06-2002 21:50:

heaven scent a prog tune? err.

prog isnt boring. just consists of more subtleties which once you notice, begin to enjoy.

Posted by InSoMnIa^ on Nov-07-2002 01:12:

radicool: is your avatar of jason midro???

Posted by Itchy on Nov-07-2002 02:41:

i really disagree with this whole prog, vs trance shit, can't we just agree that everyone has their own tastes. Generally, it seems people who like progressive are those who have listened to music for longer and therefore want something that is not so obvious or 'commercial' sounding, but that doesn't mean prog heads are better than trance heads, its just a form of progression some people choose to take and some people choose not to.......fair enough ........ can we just agree that one is not better than the other, and whichever you are into, it will surely make you cream your pants at the highest points and that in itself is the beauty of music.....period

i guess i am just being optimistic to this happening, as i guess humans are naturally always going to be competitive no matter what......but i can dream, right?
