Technics Vs Vestax

alright this is for ppl who know WTF they are on about, i got a pair of Technics 1210 Mk2's i am very happy with them i love them, but i am thinking of buying some new decks next year, you would think there isn't really anything better, but i am condidering something with more gadgets (new numarks you say. . . no thanx!) my consideration are a pair of VESTAX PDX2000 i ve herd alot about them and had a look, but not used them, has anyone used them b4? and if so what would you say TECHNICS OR VESTAX ?

use the search function you will get loads of threads on this! after reading through loads of posts then its up to you to decide what you think suits your needs better personally id stick with the techs but thats only my opinion! good luck

why try to fix something that isnt broken?

technics are sex.

Cool

i have tried both and vestax are nasty and the pitch control doesn't feel smooth and they look like toys. if u r gonna change i suggest u get the stantons, ask neo

Technics all the way.
All those extra stuff on other decks are bullshit......technics is basic, but it's all you need......

hmmm my advise on the Techs vs Vestax matter I'd go with the Stanton str8-100, now THAT is sex

Posted by DJ-Kuza on Nov-07-2002 16:17:

I'd stick with the techs. It's not the gadjets, it's the person using the decks that make it work well. And don't get the stantons.

yeah i jsut took a look at my setup today... and seeing all these new turntables made my 1210s look a bit outdated. but then, imagining the setup with "fancier" tables... kinda ruined the picture. what makes tech so special to me is the fact that its so simple and so refined. so even though its not as new looking as the other tables coming out, its just so much better becuase its simplicity in looks and use; and that is so much more beautiful. its just plain classy in my opinion.

stick with techs

if anything get the mk3's with the dipless pitch slider thats sounds nice.

Posted by DJ Libor on Nov-08-2002 18:13:

well my verdict is 1210's are the best around, had a look at the vestax, they suk they just look fancy (luke ur right the pitch is shite). i dunno about these stantons ne1 give me ne more info of them.?. also the mk3 looks cool, with that dip problem solved (really pisses me off)
cheerz guys

umm.. i dunno what you mean by 'dipless' pitch slider but the pdx2000s dont have a click at 0.. so its smooth all the way.

I recommend the 2000's.. after using them. amazing tables.. great power, sturdy build, and accurate pitch. the pitch feels 'lighter' than on the techs though.

Posted by DJ Libor on Nov-09-2002 10:38:

the dip is what happens when u pull the pitch slider just below o.o (or lock). the decks create a dip where the is a huge gap from 0.0 - to say -0.5 much bigger then there is from say +2% to +2.5%

VESTAX SUCK!! Those spaceship looking pieces of shit. I played on what I literally almost took them and broke them over the fucking heard of the club owner. Seriously those things are plastic pieces of crap. If you drop it on the floor you might as well kiss it good bye. But I've dropped my tech's before on solid concrete...god please don't remind me but I picked them up and played them...sounded just as good as the day I bought them .
