Just got my first Residency

Well, last night I've had it with the bedroom so packed few records, my headphones and went out with a friend. Was walking around on the party street a bit and was given a flyer to that club. I went up spoke to people and seems he was quite impressed with where I've played etc so he took me in. Every Wednesday night 11PM to 2 AM. The thing is that club is still new and under going transitions from a pub to club. There's a a huge 12 foot screen projector showing soccer still but that would be useful for parties. Couple of pool tables. Sound system is not very good coz it was never needed. Friday and Saturday nights they have one of the most popular (over-rated) dj, columnist playing there. This club needs a lot of promotions and advertising done though being on the 3rd floor of the party street. I was told I could play anything from funky to progressive to trance coz guy who'd open for me plays funky house.
Thank god for that!
Anyway, what do you guys think? If you were given opportunity like this would you take it? Or would you wait to play at better clubs?

Thanks everyone, I came home and mixed for couple of hours more before going to bed at around 3...so excited. I'd really recommend you to just go out there and do it...don't wait for it to happen.

man you've got a great place to practice. do prog from 11 - 12 then start in with soft trance and do banging trance for the last hour. Good show!

hell yeah if i had a chance like that I'd go for it no matter what the club reputation i meen it should and proabaly a mile stone so use it to your advantage and good luck man

I dropped there again last night thinking wow Sat night it'd be packed and people dancing since that famous dj was spinning but when I got there true there were loads of people but they were all sitting down drinking and talking as if it was a pub! I was really discouraged. I don't know how much I'm gonna get paid...the owner asked me to do my own flyer too.. I might go and play this Wed but if it's not good next week on I'll have a friend who also just started out to go play with me and I'll start to look for places elsewhere. It'd be great to help promote a friend..wouldn't you? Have him start from 10:30 to 12 playing vocal house and progressive and i'll join in from there.
