Armin Van Buuren is now DJing upside down

In a talkshow this week he said:"Now people can see I'm really turning (spinning)". Turning in Dutch means playing. He meant not faking.

At 2:40 minutes he explains this event:"Friends of Amstel" Amstel is a Dutch beer brand. The event has already sold out for next year, so it's pretty popular. Not my cup of tea, but I have friends going.

Cool @7:10 our hero master mixer Ben Liebrand, or like Armin says our Jedi Master himself. Armin is a ridiculous Star Wars fan as you maybe know. I met Ben shortly at a Beach club last summer. He lives in Canada.

Since your video didn't play:

@9 minutes he appears from the ceiling:

Luckily he also played some fine trance...o, wait..well I do like the lightshow though, and Faithless. IMO Armin doesn't really fit in this event with the best Dutch singers as he just can't sing:

I understand he can't do or pull off stuff like this, which he really enjoys, who wouldn't, as a trance DJ without commercial shit.

I guess he can finally claim he's done a concert gimmick that not even Tiesto has.

(Tijs hasn't, has he....?)

I feel like a lot of them don't actually know which way is up by the time they get on stage.

Let me know when he decides to shove a roman candle in his asshole and sets it off(live).

Taucher was doing this ages ago.

Lee Burridge's first ever residency was in a basement in Hong Kong in the early '90s, and he would swing upside down from the rafters and mix, right up to the day he fell face first onto the mixer.

When he's upside down, it becomes a Saint Peter pose.

It wouldn't surprise me if he bought the damn thing, if he didn't already own it.

Actually this entire show, with back stage interviews in between, is on TV here right now. So I'm gonna watch at least a part of it on the back ground. This year is the 20th edition, 14 shows in 16 days for 190,000 people in total in the Rotterdam Ahoy. So there is a chance Armin can see his dinner twice.

By the way, today I saw a part of Armin's new track in another show, a few seconds and I heard enough, again.

came here to post this. I can;t find any pics now, but he used to DJ multihour sets hanging above the decks. None of this strapped in to a giant health and safety dome that rotates at 1" per minute and then needs fancy video editing to make it look cool....

....he just had a scaffolding bar over the booth and hung from it by his legs like DJ Bat.

This was probably very early 90's, like 90 or 91.
